Sorry For the Delay, but as Promised...

Day 1,039, 20:31 Published in USA USA by Jacksondr5

Now, due to lack of time last night, I wasn't able to write much on my plan to recruit. That is what this article will focus on.

Some people have told me that I cant base my entire platform on this, but I think this is the best solution we can find. Rather than fixing the budget and shrinking funds, only to come back to it a month later, how about we find a new revenue source. We can't rent any more regions, either because no one wants them, or we can't afford to loose them.

R&R isn't simply the job of the party. For recruitment to be successful, the government needs to step in. Think of the amount of people we could bring in if we had people go out to gaming forums and post a little bit about erepublik. Think of the benefits of a game like this one. We have a good population, but not so big that it's impossible to do anything. Here you can do almost anything with minimal effort. As for battles, make a huge difference by spending 10-20 minutes on the field. As for politics, look at the number of blockers we have, why not replace those with candidates?

This game has gone from the "complicated" V2 people raged about, to a more V1 like game, so now all we need is some more money to restore the battles of V1.

Ok enough stalling, here's my plan.

1. Set up a team of Americans willing to go out into the internet and recruit, wether in a chat room, or on a forum, or maybe even in RL. (If battling alongside ppl on IRC is fun, how much fun would battling alongside your best friend be?)

2. Send them out to some big gaming forums, and have them stay with that forum to convince the people who go on there to join. Now these people most likely play other games, so we don't want them to convert to our game, but play it part time. The game does have an addictive quality to it, unless you get too involved.

3. Make out mentor program better. We can easily recruit some more people willing to devote some time to helping out our newbies. One of the best moments in the game for me was when I brought a new guy into my militia's chat room to help with an ATO effort. Shortly after, he got involved with the APF, and got a good start on his elife. Seeing the people you helped go off to be successful is a p darn good sight. A great mentor sticks with the citizen and checks in on him/her often, helping them out. For example, one day the mentor sends a letter "Hey, It looks like you can fight now. What do you think about joining the USA military? Or maybe a party militia? They're both pretty cool. Here are some links to articles explaining them." Then the mentor will provide a few articles, and maybe some advice on which to chose. I want my mentors to make our newbies feel welcome, I want them to know we care.

This is my priority, and not just my election goal. I'll be doing this even if I lose.
