This shouldn't need to be said, but it has become clear that many people do not understand how Libertad works. So I shall explain, using text from the official statute which governs our actions, why we were fighting for Mexico tonight, and why it shouldn't offend anyone.
" Libertad is a political-military unit, which according to the new regulations concerning Military Units was established in eGreece. Apart from this fact, Libertad is an International Brigade of Freedom Fighters and so it is open to anyone who agrees to the unit's purpose and respects the procedures, regardless the player's RL nationality and eRep citizenship."
So, no claim to represent any country there.
"The basis for the existence of Libertad is its participation in defensive and/or liberation wars, reinforcing ecountries that struggle for the continuation or recovery of their independence"
So helping a country regain independence, check.
"Libertad is able to participate in defensive or liberation wars if it is invited by goverments, parties or militaty units from ecountries that are part of such wars. "
And yes, we were invited by the Mexican government.
What the big fuss was for, I don't understand. If Libertad is invited to fight, we go and fight. No matter what "alliance" the country is a member of. If Croatia wants our help, all they ever have to do is ask.
As for Ireland, remember that we have poured untold millions into it's battles, have defended it tirelessly, and are among it's most active citizens. Half of the top 20 citizens in Ireland are (or literally were 5 minutes ago 😛
) members of Libertad. We have never taken funding or support from the government, nor claimed to represent it. So when we do as we wish do not be so surprised.

MUFC92 that was a stupid comment from someone playing the game this long. The flag is the flag of the nation you are currently located in. Therefore in the Mexico rw all of Libertad have Croatian flags by their stats.

I have asked why you didn't take the logical option to liberate Croatia and s a result liberate Mexico at the same time, when you have the option?
And the answer is that you weren't asked by Croatia. For all the respect I have for Libertad, I don't understand how they could be so weak as to need instruction to fight for what they believe in.
But the clarification is lovely. I hope the word gets out that your unit are not tied to eIreland, and you can carry on doing what you do.

But you do get many requests, its down to your commander to decide the most tactful approach - I offer my opinion that your commander could have decided to liberate Mexico without fighting Croatia. But I don't call you traitors, I just don't consider you eIrish. I assume thats what is wanted, but unfortunately eIreland's allies have not been informed, and if your comrades decide they dont need to explain themselves, then it us who suffers.

I get that you are not aligned to eIreland, Castaneda. That in your eyes victory, by those you like, is by purely game mech end points. I also know you don't like me for various reasons. This is mental stuff
In the future there will be less confusion when Libertad is seen as going "against the interests" of their native countries, and we won't have this mess.
Tonight's fuss was a lesson learned.The more people will become aware of them, and the more people will learn they are not state MUs. The independent nature of Libertad is not common knowledge among the populace, but more proactive efforts will quickly put an end to that... and we won't have a repeat of tonight's drama.
Tomorrow will be a better day.
And the next day will be even better.
And the next day will be even better than that.

Stupid statement because I didn't once state that it was in Ireland's interest. All I said is that it doesn't make me not eIrish.

If you dont understand (ironically) the international situation, I can't make it clearer. Croatia are in Mexico because they were pushed out of their regions, as soon as Croatia's regions are liberated, they will leave Mexico. --And that is what EDEN is currently doing--. Could you have done it better? Yeah, you could have liberates Croatia's regions and therefore liberated Mexico as a result.
But as I was told by your leaders, Croatia didnt ask.

If you go to the roots of the whole thing, there is one truth. THIS IS A GAME. And you play it to have fun. Libertad is doing good, cause they know that and they are having fun. They have found a really good way to enjoy the game, with a sence of community too. And as far as i can say, as an (a long time ago) ex-member of libertad, and an eIrish, they are all decent, funny people.
This is not Libertad's problem. This is peoples who see "e-nation interests" and "traitors" and stuff like that.
As i said,this is a game. Game=happy alteration of reality, to escape. So, if you are bringing that problems in here too, you are not escaping. You are just changing targets and problems.

My number 1 in the game will always be e-Ireland.
I have no problem with anyone who does not share that view but I'd prefer not to be told that I am bringing problems into a game just because I want my e-country to succeed. I'd also prefer that e-Irish citizens put e-Ireland's interests ahead of everything else ingame.
Ireland is not occupying England. The strike at London was just that... a strike at our enemy. Did I make any serious effort to suppress RWs? No. We just played cat and mouse, to keep initiative, and make our way to London. We fully expected them to RW the regions we left behind.
