Soldiers Story: Airborne All the Way

Day 595, 14:32 Published in USA USA by Tronyx

A couple of months ago, I made one of the toughest decisions in my eMilitary career. I was a colonel in the Mobile Infantry, commanding Alpha Company. It was stressful, but fun. One fateful day in May, Joshua Hoss and I ran into one another on irc and I joked about joining airborne in passing. Little did I know that this was my first step toward the most rewarding part of eRepublik I've experienced thus far.

After weighing my options (I was close to 8 strength, I wanted to be among the elite) I decided that yes, I would give Airborne a shot. After some heartfelt goodbyes to the troops in the MI, I headed into the unknown. I was coming into a division that was just starting out and therefore had a few kinks to work out. Changes in command, procedure, supplies, you name it. It was a whirlwind ride, especially for division XO getting thrown right into the mix to test his mettle. But thanks to soldiers like Gen. Hoss, Josh Frost, Maxmillian VW, Tankshock, Bearsfan30, and Leroy Combs, I got the hang of things pretty quickly. Soon, I was a part of one of the fastest, most brutal fighting forces any country could muster.

I can now say that since joining Airborne, I've gained a lot of pride in what I do. From Liberating Greece and Israel, to raising hell all over the rest of Europe, I've had a great time with a great group of people. It's pretty awesome starting a resistance war and watching your troops decimate a wall before the defenders even know what's going on. Now that I'm a Major General, I have a greater understanding of all the work that goes into running a military division. I know that whatever branch I may end up in down the road, the training, teachings, and experience I've gained in the Airborne will serve me well.

The AB has fantastic leadership and nothing but good things are in store for it. Its' dedicated soldiers grow stronger every day, with some that already qualify for the marines mind you, and we are always looking to expand and take on more soldiers who wish to be a part of this division, this shining example of determination, pride, and excellence.

So to all of you out there, general public, soldiers in other divisions, whoever you may be; If you are close to or at 8 strength, are very active, and would like the opportunity to fight beside some of the best soldiers in the world, we'd love to have you come spill some blood with us.
