Social Revolution

Day 2,873, 06:25 Published in India Albania by Ruler of The New World

In the light of the recent hurting base tournament a sudden increase in activity has occurred. Brilliant. However, as Bholenath pointed out, the main fault in India is "social health" of the country.

As I have mention in afore written articles, the active population of India is extremely low, and as Kunal Grover has previously out we have a hard time latching on to, and keeping newbies. I use the phrase "latching on" with intended vigour. Because quite honestly that is what the game needs to do.

Speaking personally now, when I first began the game I was introduced by two of my Primary (Elementary) School friends, Ll2l, and crazycon. They are long since e-deceased. In playing the game, I found its allure was not as the home page would have us believe:
"Conquer your country's neighbours and extend its territories
Build a company and develop your economic empire
Fight against real people on the battlefield"

It lay instead with a highly realistic social system, with governance, economics and media. Call me sentimental, but I don't think today eRepublik is as social as the good 'ol days.

The main form of communication for us in the ranks was through newspapers, since as a 13 year old IRCs were scary, Skype didn't exist and MUs were no where near as tight/together as they are now; with chats and the like.

Therefore, it became almost a mark of adulthood, a passage way into the experienced, having forked out 2 Gold and established a newspaper one gained a feeling of achievement, purpose and aspired for the elusive Media Mogul Trophy.

I doubt there are very many players within eRepublik over level 20 or so who do not own newspapers.

Scrolling through my friends list, on first page alone is:
-Lord Krishna's "Blue News"
-Ayush1212's "The Indian Express"
-ANANTHAKRISHNAN's "SOUL OF INDIA"
-destiny India's "The Upcoming Soldier"
-sathish.c's "Eternal Sunshine"
And many more. I hope you see my point.

If you don't there is clearly a great backing for socializing with the game itself. Now, the newspapers aren't places for divulging state or personal secrets but are good for publishing pertinent articles like this one you all should read for the Burning Base tournament.

Not all articles need be lengthy.

Or they could be simply used as a social and entertaining read, after all ther is there not a newspaper category just for this? Take for instance Bombay Bomb's article promoting playful interaction in game.

That is just the kinda action I want to see. Doesn't have to be relevant, doesn't have to be intelligent, but I want to see the news feeds on my home page full every day, I want people to compete for votes and subs, and most of all I want people to get active.

I'm challenging you to publish one article per week per newspaper, it could be a joke or a news link, a funny video or whatever- it's activity that matters. Get the country up and running again by getting the people up and running again.

I won't be here 5th October to the 7th October (erep time) and after that school term will be back on, so due to RL stresses I'm going to aim for two articles per week. Squeeze in as many as you can. Make your readers sick of you, get talking and get writing, for India!
