So dictator ships should be sunk and a revolution started?

Day 2,968, 02:00 Published in Ireland Ireland by Releasethe Krakken

TBH most people have a misconception about the political module.

Here is a chart listing what I think is the advantages and disadvantages of all political systems:

Population:

Dictators can invite more people to our country. 50 whereas in a democratic system 40 congress members must approve these citizens i.e by pushing a button. Which never ever even amounts to even 50%. So in truth probably 50 possible new citizens versus 18 in a democratic system. Go and check on citizen approvals when most citizens was accepted.

Treasury Thefts:
Return of stolen money:

Dictators is normally old and experienced players with an interest less on improving their accounts versus the account of the country. Whereas CP 's can be any person and even inexperienced players just in it for a quick buck. the risk of a dictator stealing is minimal. Whereas in normal democracy a country like Ireland have not the benefit of the monies that was safeguarded and buildup for them by previous regimes. Due to periodic thefts that stripped us of these monies.

Ownership of the Treasury

In democracy the Country President in any dictatorship the dictator. So in a democratic dictatorship if a CP steals the money it is not Ok'ed by the admins and the money can be returned. Or atleast we hope it works like this.

Safeguards

A CP cannot reset org passwords. So the CP does not have the keys to the orgs and cannot shut out access to them to have his way with them. In a democratic system power is shifted between the CP the dictator and the Cabinet. Currently we have a very active cabinet thread where everything is discussed. So what Cat Boyd proposes is in fact a lesser version of what is in place. Unlike previous regimes the input of all members is respected and considered.

Military Takeovers
Foreigners need to oust our dictator and retake the dictatorship for their own which would set them back 400k. As legitimate dictators we would be able to ask for support from our allies to retake our power.

In a democratic system only 200 k need be raised and big Mu's can take over your country.

Its the principle of the house with no walls around it versus the house with palisades around it. The one requires just that bit of extra effort to breach and time. But a thief would know inside the one is possibly further security barriers and split levels whereas in the other there is no barriers to him.

Therefore we have just that one more barrier between us than a similar sized country would have.

Political activity

In both democratic dictatorship and democracy :
We have a pseudo congress where we discuss all matters and vote on them that acts for all purposes like a normal congress
We have a very active cabinet that handles a lot of stuff on the meta level including establishing committees to carry out certain tasks.

We have ministries where ministers and deputies carry on their tasks as always.

Final Thoughts
In object oriented programming one always struggled with classes until one reads that a class is what the programmer wants it to be. In eRepublik a dictator is what the people wants it to be.

So i wouldn't put much weight on what others say on government activity and dictatorship from inside the engine room i can tell you its going fine. And in my opinion the best system.
