Sjohn for Arizona

Day 1,371, 14:55 Published in USA USA by sjohnfsdsxzzx

I am officially announcing my candidacy for congress for the great state of Arizona.

Why Vote For Me?

If there ever was a time for change, that time is now. The game seems to be decaying, along with its community, and I believe that I can offer new ideas and I’m willing to ask and listen to the public’s opinion. I would dedicate time to listening and analyzing innovative ideas such as TUG-O-WAR and the Strategic Food Reserve. What experience have I had before in the government? Not much, in my short political career (if you exclude my 1 year vacation from erep) I’ve served as the ambassador to Venezuela, and I’m currently an intern in the State Department.

MILITARY

The military is mostly under the control of the executive branch and the military leadership, however, I believe it is important I present all my views on all subjects of interest. I believe that the USAF has done moderately well, however the military could always use more supplies, and an increase in the number of tank rations would be nice for every soldier (including myself 😃). The amount of damage our military manages to inflict on the battlefield could be moderately increased with a slight increase in supplies. I also believe that reconciliation between the JCS led military forces and the USAF is possible, if both sides are willing to compromise and set aside their differences.

ECONOMY

Taxes can and should be raised slightly, maybe by 1-5 %. Some oppose raising taxes, believing It is unfair for eAmericans and that the money taken by the government does more harm than good. But the most highly paid eAmerican pays around 20 USD a day as taxes to the government, barely enough to buy a q3 weapon or some extra food. Without taxes the military would be unable to be supplied and the extra 1 to 2 weapons or food citizen’s might buy would be inefficient and hazardous for the security of the nation.

GOVERNMENT TRANSPARENCY
During the past three months since my revival in erepublik, I have noticed many Americans complain about the lack of information they receive from the government. This is especially true about new players, but I’ve also noticed discontent from older players who believe the government is not informing the public enough about their choices. I believe that the government should report better about certain decisions such as decisions that affect programs used by citizens, and find ways to increase the amount of information we can release to the public.

RETENTION

Retention is probably the most important thing the government could work on. Without retention programs, we would have no new citizens, and new players are the future of our country. We should always maintain programs to help new players such as mentoring programs, and maybe even maintaining a channel on irc dedicated for new players, considering how the #usa-chat channel almost never has any actual conversations in it. We should also do all we can to foster activity and get new players on the forums and on irc.

If you’re still reading this, then remember vote Sjohn on the 25th. I will hand out assistance in the form of money for moving expenses for moving to vote for me, maybe even a little extra something for your troubles.
