I was just thinking about how different things are now than when I started working here at the WC. Not only are we a lot better funded, but we get a ton more PMs every day meaning more americans are getting help and proper guidance in their starting days.

I just wanted to do a quick shout out to the people that make the eUSA Welcoming Committee the success that it is. Who might that be? well...probably you!

We would not be nearly the success we are in my eyes without the support of the average eUSA citizen. Every day we get small cash donations, product donations (such as Q1 food), and tons of PMs from new players who were referred to us. The donations are vital to our continued functioning (as we are not government funded) and I cannot overemphasize how great the referrals are - because if it wasnt for you guys showing people how to find help, they may well not find it and lose interest in the game.

George Barker had a quote on his profile once, something to the terms of "Find a new player and teach him how to play, and you will have doubled your impact on the eUSA". A lot of you guys have taken that mindset to heart and have made a huge impact!

Of course this article wouldnt be complete without at least attempting to name a couple of our recent benefactors ,but off the top of my head here I go:

Colin Lantrip and Max Mcfarland: Both of these guys are the epitome of what I would hope every skill 0 employer would be. I cannot even begin to count the number of times that I have seen someone say they were referred here, then see that the new player was employed at one of these two individuals companies. Colin has also provided substantial financial support.

Boomshine: Unfortunately boomshines recent decided he is no longer going to play, but upon leaving he decided to leave his "life savings" with us. While he may no longer be playing, hes definitely made his impact on the eUS by helping us help others.

Zheng He : Wrote a neat little article about who we are and referring anyone that needs help to us.

Killing Time: KT was kind enough to purchase additional storage space for us during hte last weapons distribution. Its been pretty great, although expires soon 🙁

Oliver Wendal Holmes: Great guy. While I refuse to visit the in game forums, Oliver has provided us a ton of links to americans who need help and have asked for it in the in game forums. Often, these players were the subject of trolling and misinformation before Oliver took the time to find them help, so the impact made here was even more drastic.

I think I will leave it at that for now.

Responsible skill 0 employers are greatness

Having mentioned Colin and Mcfarlands skill 0 job jubs, I do want to remind all skill 0 employers the importance of helping their employees in their first couple days. Even if you do not want to put much in terms of time/resources into it, simply referring them to us when you hire them could make a world of difference and keep that player involved in the eUS.

Chat room

As I am sure many of you noticed, eRepublik recently added in game chat rooms. This is a great opportunity to provide faster response time and better education for our citizens. I encourage everyone to spend time in the USA Beginners room (the default one they create) when they are online, both to help educate our new players, and to prevent them from being misinformed by our enemies.

Q1 house selloff

Another group of people who have been great in helping the WC have been those that provided their houses to us to raffle off for fundraising (I had a list, but formatted my comp when I got windows 7 and i guess i forgot to put that file in my external hard drive). Unfortunately I can no longer spend the time I was organizing those fundraisers, and our bagspace is going to be pretty cramped, so I have decided to sell them off.

That said I have 8 Q1 houses for sale at 2.7 gold each. To purchase them, just send us the gold via donation and a PM stating that you are purchasing a Q1 house. We will send you your new home asap.
