Short solution for Military Cohesion

Day 1,721, 03:52 Published in Ireland Ireland by Death and Taxes

Hey.

So we've discussed the current situation with regard to Irish military units and come up with a number of proposals, either an amalgamation of all MU's into one large unit, with divisions matched up with regiments. Or alternatively, having 4 main MU's each of which is responsible for one division of fighting ability for our country.

Whether this is implemented or not remains to be seen. Certainly there would be mass resistance and the possibility of making things worse. Nonetheless, I don't think many would argue that the current fractured situation gives poor cohesion to how and when we fight.

Following the 'Campaign of The Day' or accessing IRC or even casual conversations amongst military commanders is patchy, uncoordinated and makes for sloppy wars. Something we can't afford because our allies check our results regularly and we need to show some skill and expertise, as we want these same allies to support us.

We're hoping for a military campaign during this term of our CP, although knowing Ronisu, it will only happen if it's logical and well planned. So again if this happens, the MU's will know where to fight, but may not coordinate too well. The supply of free weapons from the government does assist us with this regard, but lots of people don't access IRC or don't want supplies.

While we start our preparations I have a relatively simple suggestion.

At the start of each week the MoFA/MoD should sent out a joint circular as a PM to all MU commanders. This should be updated on a regular basis, such as changes in CotD, strategy explanations, alliance explanations and coordination of combined strikes.

The idea behind this is that it allows MU commanders a joint platform to communicate to and get information back from the government. We don't want or need a massive thread with posts being pinged back and forth, but I do believe that after a couple of weeks, the MU Commanders will have a very good grasp of current military affairs and alliances, and the government will have a very good idea of how our structure works or fails. Something vital for the future of this country.

So. What do you think?
