sharing the praise ... building a better eUSA

Day 513, 00:26 Published in USA USA by scrabman

Before I get started ... I just have to announce that I made it to General tonight with the start of tonight's RW in Baja! I never thought I would ever make it there and love that I can now do over 100 damage in a single fight using a Q1 weapon! W00T to War Games!

Let me also say that this article is about sharing praise with a lot of people ... so it is as long as it needs to be so that I can show my appreciation for the people who are working to make this country great. If you're not interested ... just skip to the comments.

The other night I was out with my friend Hokiehigh having sushi at one of our favorite restaurants around Charleston. His very pregnant wife let him out of the house and I finally got out of court (we've been slammed this week) and we talked about eRep while having saki, sushi, and assorted other things. When the check arrived my fortune was very apt. It sai😛

A problem clearly stated is a problem half solved.

That really sums up a lot of my philosophy about life and leadership. Anybody who has been around me while I've been in a leadership role knows that I don't handle whiney-assed bitches very well. I know that much was said about me regarding my dismissive attitude or my propensity for labeling people as trolls who disagree with me. In reality ... if a person wants to disagree with me and will rationally discuss it then I'll be glad to talk about it. If they come at me like a pack of wild dogs or like some sniping backstabber I will respond very differently.

It is in this way that the fortune cookie spoke of great wisdom (and it was quite tasty). I've been meaning to write an article for the last 5 days or so and haven't gotten around to it. But I really must praise the people who have actually tried to work with me and to help make things better by helping me solve problems rather than just naysaying and speculating about how great they would do without offering any real help.

In the last 3 and a half weeks that I have been President I've had a tremendous team working with me and I need to make sure that they are praised. Hokiehigh has been my constant guide through this process as he has been my eyes and ears on IRC as well as keeping the finances of my Administration straight and making sure I understand economic consequences. Ananias has been a behind the scenes guy (and is now the USWP Party President ... W00T) and has been a constant source of wisdom and stability with how well he reads a situation and how well he understands the players of this game. Inwegen has been my faithful guide in all things ATLANTIS and in making sure that I am aware of international issues as has Leroy Combs who pops into the President's Daily Brief (a hidden Board that I started to keep myself apprised of daily happenings) to tell me about PTOs and other important security risks.

Eugene Harlot has been more than a Military liaison and commander of the Marines ... but he has been a guide for me when it comes to our Military and how they interact with the rest of the world. Tiacha has been a source of sound advice and has been a constant force for helping me to examine all sides of an issue. Moishe has been integral in helping to get things done with military relations (along with Leroy and Eugene) and I credit the 3 of them with helping to make significant strides toward bringing Congress and the Military back to the same table with this budget. Speaking of the budget ... One Eye and HeadmistressTalia as well as Gilroy have all been tremendous benefits to me and along with Equality and Bienville they have been great additions to the Economic Council even though they all come from different parties (because they are the best people for the jobs).

That is really a lot of what this last several weeks has been about for me. They have been about discovering that I have picked the right people for the right jobs. I am so fortunate to have people like Alee Ann, Cstarlight21, and Henry Baldwin working in the Courts as they have been some of the most active people there helping to flesh out the framework of the court system making it easier for the various Judges to do their jobs over there. When I became President I worried about what would happen with the Courts and they have been in excellent hands, again, because I picked the right people to work over there and they have done a job that is superior to anything that I could have asked of them. The same goes for many of the Mods and other sorts of group leaders who I have selected or recommended for various parts of the Forums.

I really feel like things are going great right now. I've, somehow, managed to achieve just about all of my original goals when I took over the Presidency a little less than 4 weeks ago. Now I need to find some new things to do and get to work on building upon those things that are already going well. I'm so excited that we have a Federal budget and that it has brought Congress and the Military to the same table and has forced them both to plan more than a few days in advance about how to spend the limited funds that come in through our National coffers. I have been fortunate to see the military step up in an unprecedented move of cooperation between their branches to share their resources and to agree to comply with Congress as their source of funding. This truly puts the power into the hands of the people ... as it should be.

Don't think for a second that because I haven't mentioned your name here that I don't appreciate what you have done for me, for my administration, and for the country. Claire Littleton has been a fresh voice in my Cabinet this last two weeks as she has been the first White House Press Secretary and I've also been fortunate to have volunteers like Danylo Halytskyj and Bill Brasky to take on important roles within my Administration and to work behind the scenes to make things better. Other behind the scenes workers have been Publius and Uncle Sam in various ways ... particularly Publius who, with Uncle Sam, helped lay the groundwork of our current highly successful war games in Baja and I continue to receive the daily benefit of Publius' advice in various matters in which he is highly experienced and knowledgeable.

So if I left your name out then feel free to please comment in the comments below. I don't mean to slight anyone as my goal is to pass on the praise that I've been getting from various citizens in numerous PMs and Forum comments over the last 4 weeks. I can only share in a portion of that praise. Yes, I picked great helpers and workers ... but it is their great work that has really made the difference over the last month. I thank you all ... you know who you are.

Sincerely,
Scrab - POTUS

Now, let's figure out what we're going to do to make things even better for my upcoming second and final full term. I know we have some other ideas we've been kicking around and I will look forward working on them and taking us into even more interesting new directions heading on into and through May. Things that I'm working on now are closing the War Games in Baja and looking toward some other War Games possibilities. Additionally, it is my hope to have the war with Portugal closed around the same time that I would like to sign a non aggression pact with Mexico related to the close of our War Games.

For the time being ... train train train and remember that War Games will be M, W, F at 16:00 and leading into the next day so that everyone should get at least 30 free fights a week if they are using a Q5 hospital properly. Please read through my previous articles for advice on how to do that. I'm still getting a lot of emails from people who don't understand how to fight and use hospitals properly. Remember, keep that wellness high ... it's free!

P.S. Congrats on all the new Party Presidents. Please feel free to endorse me as your Presidential Candidate for the May elections if you like the direction that we are heading. I will promise to keep on that path and to hand over a better eUSA in June.
