sharing the praise ... building a better eUSA
scrabman
Before I get started ... I just have to announce that I made it to General tonight with the start of tonight's RW in Baja! I never thought I would ever make it there and love that I can now do over 100 damage in a single fight using a Q1 weapon! W00T to War Games!
Let me also say that this article is about sharing praise with a lot of people ... so it is as long as it needs to be so that I can show my appreciation for the people who are working to make this country great. If you're not interested ... just skip to the comments.
The other night I was out with my friend Hokiehigh having sushi at one of our favorite restaurants around Charleston. His very pregnant wife let him out of the house and I finally got out of court (we've been slammed this week) and we talked about eRep while having saki, sushi, and assorted other things. When the check arrived my fortune was very apt. It sai😛
A problem clearly stated is a problem half solved.
That really sums up a lot of my philosophy about life and leadership. Anybody who has been around me while I've been in a leadership role knows that I don't handle whiney-assed bitches very well. I know that much was said about me regarding my dismissive attitude or my propensity for labeling people as trolls who disagree with me. In reality ... if a person wants to disagree with me and will rationally discuss it then I'll be glad to talk about it. If they come at me like a pack of wild dogs or like some sniping backstabber I will respond very differently.
It is in this way that the fortune cookie spoke of great wisdom (and it was quite tasty). I've been meaning to write an article for the last 5 days or so and haven't gotten around to it. But I really must praise the people who have actually tried to work with me and to help make things better by helping me solve problems rather than just naysaying and speculating about how great they would do without offering any real help.
In the last 3 and a half weeks that I have been President I've had a tremendous team working with me and I need to make sure that they are praised. Hokiehigh has been my constant guide through this process as he has been my eyes and ears on IRC as well as keeping the finances of my Administration straight and making sure I understand economic consequences. Ananias has been a behind the scenes guy (and is now the USWP Party President ... W00T) and has been a constant source of wisdom and stability with how well he reads a situation and how well he understands the players of this game. Inwegen has been my faithful guide in all things ATLANTIS and in making sure that I am aware of international issues as has Leroy Combs who pops into the President's Daily Brief (a hidden Board that I started to keep myself apprised of daily happenings) to tell me about PTOs and other important security risks.
Eugene Harlot has been more than a Military liaison and commander of the Marines ... but he has been a guide for me when it comes to our Military and how they interact with the rest of the world. Tiacha has been a source of sound advice and has been a constant force for helping me to examine all sides of an issue. Moishe has been integral in helping to get things done with military relations (along with Leroy and Eugene) and I credit the 3 of them with helping to make significant strides toward bringing Congress and the Military back to the same table with this budget. Speaking of the budget ... One Eye and HeadmistressTalia as well as Gilroy have all been tremendous benefits to me and along with Equality and Bienville they have been great additions to the Economic Council even though they all come from different parties (because they are the best people for the jobs).
That is really a lot of what this last several weeks has been about for me. They have been about discovering that I have picked the right people for the right jobs. I am so fortunate to have people like Alee Ann, Cstarlight21, and Henry Baldwin working in the Courts as they have been some of the most active people there helping to flesh out the framework of the court system making it easier for the various Judges to do their jobs over there. When I became President I worried about what would happen with the Courts and they have been in excellent hands, again, because I picked the right people to work over there and they have done a job that is superior to anything that I could have asked of them. The same goes for many of the Mods and other sorts of group leaders who I have selected or recommended for various parts of the Forums.
I really feel like things are going great right now. I've, somehow, managed to achieve just about all of my original goals when I took over the Presidency a little less than 4 weeks ago. Now I need to find some new things to do and get to work on building upon those things that are already going well. I'm so excited that we have a Federal budget and that it has brought Congress and the Military to the same table and has forced them both to plan more than a few days in advance about how to spend the limited funds that come in through our National coffers. I have been fortunate to see the military step up in an unprecedented move of cooperation between their branches to share their resources and to agree to comply with Congress as their source of funding. This truly puts the power into the hands of the people ... as it should be.
Don't think for a second that because I haven't mentioned your name here that I don't appreciate what you have done for me, for my administration, and for the country. Claire Littleton has been a fresh voice in my Cabinet this last two weeks as she has been the first White House Press Secretary and I've also been fortunate to have volunteers like Danylo Halytskyj and Bill Brasky to take on important roles within my Administration and to work behind the scenes to make things better. Other behind the scenes workers have been Publius and Uncle Sam in various ways ... particularly Publius who, with Uncle Sam, helped lay the groundwork of our current highly successful war games in Baja and I continue to receive the daily benefit of Publius' advice in various matters in which he is highly experienced and knowledgeable.
So if I left your name out then feel free to please comment in the comments below. I don't mean to slight anyone as my goal is to pass on the praise that I've been getting from various citizens in numerous PMs and Forum comments over the last 4 weeks. I can only share in a portion of that praise. Yes, I picked great helpers and workers ... but it is their great work that has really made the difference over the last month. I thank you all ... you know who you are.
Sincerely,
Scrab - POTUS
Now, let's figure out what we're going to do to make things even better for my upcoming second and final full term. I know we have some other ideas we've been kicking around and I will look forward working on them and taking us into even more interesting new directions heading on into and through May. Things that I'm working on now are closing the War Games in Baja and looking toward some other War Games possibilities. Additionally, it is my hope to have the war with Portugal closed around the same time that I would like to sign a non aggression pact with Mexico related to the close of our War Games.
For the time being ... train train train and remember that War Games will be M, W, F at 16:00 and leading into the next day so that everyone should get at least 30 free fights a week if they are using a Q5 hospital properly. Please read through my previous articles for advice on how to do that. I'm still getting a lot of emails from people who don't understand how to fight and use hospitals properly. Remember, keep that wellness high ... it's free!
P.S. Congrats on all the new Party Presidents. Please feel free to endorse me as your Presidential Candidate for the May elections if you like the direction that we are heading. I will promise to keep on that path and to hand over a better eUSA in June.

Great...
announce me when the movie comes out. to long
Good.
I asked this question at one of Claire's briefings, and she gave the best answer she could, which was no answer. I'll ask you: What is your policy regarding Romanian expansionism and our current direct military support of it? Is taxpayers' money being used to support Romania militarily?
congrats on the general!
Gertrude. We support our allies as long as they act in compliance with the ATLANTIS charter and if we ever have any problems with Romanian actions, we discuss it with them on the ATLANTIS forum and make sure our efforts are in concert and in the best interests of both our countries.
Scrabman, thanks for the reply. I think it means that you support Romanian expansionism, that you approve of the use of eUSA taxpayers' money to support that expansionism, and that you believe that Romanian expansionism is in the best interest of the eUSA.
Why must people derail such a positive message?
This has been the best month in the history of the eUnited States. Anyone who thinks otherwise is crazy.
Based on what I know, I expect next month to be even better! 😛
Good. More war games, peace with mexico and porttugal = stronger eAmerica and more options to proceed with the future!
ahhh, we arent running in June Scrab????

Good stuff, Mr. President. And thanks to you and all others who have made my experience in eRep so far a very pleasant one. No complaints here.
I appreciate Scrabman because I know he is a busy guy. I have written him a few times, with what I am sure to him are newbie questions. He has no problem writing me back with a polite and patient answer. Good Luck in your dealings. God Bless E-America!
Geez Gertrude, If you wanna call kickin Indo's ass expansionist go ahead I guess. I for one, am glad Atlantis is finally beginning to push Indo back. Indo has dominated for months, now they are gettin a little of their own medicine.
Joe
@Gertrude - if my "Romanian expansionism" you mean driving Indonesia out of occupied-Pakistan and occupied-India and denying PEACE a high iron region, then yes, these things are all in the eUSA's best interest.
If by "Romanian expansionism" you mean victories that are destablizing Indonesia such that they have impeached their President and demoralized PEACE, then yes, these things are in the eUSA's best interest.
If by "Romanian expansionism" you mean the highest level of ATLANTIS allied cooperation seen since the start of French War and rebuilding positive relationships with our allies by proving that we are active and committed to the alliance, then yes, all these things are in the eUSA's best interest.

>occupied-Pakistan
Indonesia was given some Pakistan regions by Pakistan, with love. fyi
There are two ways to remove Indonesia from those areas: resistance war and Romanian expansion. That's why I refer to expansionism. Each option has a different balance between political and strategic consequences, and I am interested to hear where the President's support lies.
What is happening to Indonesia right now is fairly significant (the eMarines should be congratulated for their success - with best wishes to Mom and Bro) and the President's non-inclusion of this in his round up of 'building a better eUSA' or in foreign policy statements is strange.
Excellent job Mr. President, I look forward to our continued success and progress as a nation through your leadership. And kudos for forming such an incredibly effective and diverse team of leaders within your cabinet. Voted.
I just started playing about fifteen minutes ago, and in poking around various places, I am pleasantly surprised with the overall level of intelligence and the apparently lack of blatant douchebaggery and idiocy. It's also nice to have someone in charge that is not only capable of, but willing to appraise himself and make public note of his own faults.
I'm looking forward to this game...
I think Gertrude's comments have a good point. Being relatively new to this game it can be hard to find out what is going on and I have tended to depend on what comes from the government. So it is a little bit of a surprise that this was not in the foreign policy articles, since it seems that it is viewed by the higher ups as such an achievement, which it is. It is a game after all and we shouldn't have any morals involved in it, so if we or our allies can conquer territory from out enemies we should partying in the estreets.
*Pats self on back...*
I'm proud to say I voted for Scrabman. I haven't been able to help any other way, but I'm still damn proud.
Good article,
Voted.
wait, did you get a fortune cookie at a Japanese restaurant?
@Razorteets:
Oh, don't worry. The douchebaggery and idiocy are out there. You will soon encounter them, I'm sad to say.
@Scrab: keep up your awesomeness as ePOTUS!

Love that squirell!
a bit late... but that you very much for giving me credit on the negotiations that led to us having war games.
