Dear citizens of e-Belgium


Recent events in the current government of eBelgium have lead me to decide to stand for the presidential election in a few days, despite my promise that I would never stand again.

Olv007 promised us a free and independent Belgium. I now see that this is a promise he hasn’t kept. He promised a Belgium where everyone would be welcome and where we would work on developing a free and neutral country, worthy of the name 'independent'. All I’ve seen recently since Olv came in power a few days ago is 'friends politics' and efforts to turn us into a Dutch puppet again. With nice words he lured us all to here. With promises of a free state he got our hopes up, yet his actions prove differently. His entire government is filled with Pro-Phoenix. 90% of his government have even openly stated that they don’t even want Belgium to be free and independent and rather saw it as a Dutch puppet again. He based the choice of his cabinet on 'friends first' and 'pro-phoenix'-pp-only, rather then choosing them based on experience and their qualities. His MoD (minister of defence) and MoFa (minister of foreign affairs) said it himself on the forum: he doesn't want a free Belgium. If the guy in charge of the military doesn't even want your country to be free, then you have a serious problem, no? This has led to a government that can best be described as a joke. A puppet state in the hands of the Dutch, I would even dare to say a PTO (the thing they accused us of doing) by the Dutch government. Their plan is simple: allow us to be invaded by the Dutch as soon as possible so we can be part of their little empire again.


That is why I had to step up. As a RL Belgian (yes I am RL Belgian living in 'Mechelen' despite ppl having accused me in the past of being a American PTO’er) I couldn’t watch this any longer.

That is why I have decided to get involved in the race and hopefully win, for the sake of a real independent Belgium, because take my word for it, EDEN will rather invade us then let us be taken over by NL again and I for one, want neither of those of two options. I want Belgians living in peace and freedom.

Allow me to present my short manifesto. I will try to keep it brief as there still is allot of work to be done and if I would write all my idea’s down, this text would be even longer then it already is.


Introduction

Like I said, I’m a RL Belgian. I’m 21 years old and a beta giant. I have started playing this game on day 22 (nearly 800 days ago) where I started in eUK. Here, I was founder of the first real political party (UKRP) and was involved in the political scene of the country for well over a year. I was president during beta (that is why I don’t have a president medal as those didn’t exist at the time). I, along with some others have basically build the country from scratch. When we started playing, eUK was inactive, a few months later we were ranked 3rd. You can say I have enough experience with building a country and it’s infrastructures from zero. I have also held 7 congress positions (5 during beta) and been both MoD, MoFa and Mi6 director for eUK. Above that I was Secretary General of ATLANTIS and have been involved in the politics of several countries. I have good contacts in both EDEN as well as Phoenix,..

In short: you can say I’ve done everything there is to do in this game and know what I’m talking about in e-republik. I have experience in nearly all fields and know all key-figures in e-republik



My policies:

Healthcare:

After being nearly a week in power, we still don’t have a hospital. The hospital is ready and is just waiting to be placed. Olv, however still hasn’t placed it. How much longer will we need to discuss this? We’ve been talking for ages and we still don’t have the hospital installed. Such indecisiveness can’t be tolerated. What Belgium needs is a president that can make decisions and make them fast. What Belgium needs now is a president that can get shit done, something I can but our current government clearly can’t.


Political structure:

For the political structure I wish to implant, I would like to refer to the article I wrote about this, named 'Shadow-plan: Volume 1', which can be found here
In short this would allow maximum transparency and allow the public to have a say in the decisions of the government. This structure would prevent a elitist society where a President and his ministers have all control and the public none. I plea for the public in charge where the role of the president is just a executive role, fulfilling the wishes of the people and the citizens. And not the other way around.


Neutrality and foreign affairs


Neutrality is a very important part for our country. Make no mistake, the second EDEN thinks we are part of UNL again or we are a Phoenix puppet, they will attack. Same goes for Phoenix, the second they think that we are a EDEN puppet, they will PTO us. For that reason we must have a good foreign affairs department. That is why I will propose to implant 2 ministers of Foreign affairs. One responsible for EDEN countries and one for Phoenix countries. They will have a whole team of Ambassadors available to aid them in order to maximise our countries reputation, prevent PTO’s against us and get help attracting ppl to join our country in order to grow from the small country we are now, to the big nation I want us to become.


eBelgium must become a country for everyone, regardless of their RL nationality, regardless of their political allegiances, regardless of what alliance they prefer. In here, there are no RL nationalities, and every person willing to help for the benefit of ebelgium should be considered a e-belgian and treated equally. If we want to prevent others from PTO’ing us, the first step is to become one melting pot of cultures, experiences and idea’s. Only then we can grow, only then we can become more than just small country being PTO'd every election.

I will later write a longer text on neutrality and foreign affairs. In short the idea’s I want to implant are:
-2 MoFa’s
-Actively search for as much Ambassadors as possible
-Try to recruit ppl with knowledge of foreign cultures and languages, without forgetting about the RL Belgians
-set up good contacts with both EDEN and Phoenix as well as countries who can help us in case we are PTO’d.



Military:


A military is part of the fun in e-republik. That is why a military is important. It involves players and keeps them playing. Me and Wektras have both set up a military structure we can use. I would like to propose to implant my structure in a initial stage, seeing as we are still a small nation, and later as we grow, works towards Wektras structure. More detail on these structures can be found on the eBelgium Forum here

MoHa: new additions: being their for the citizens.

This ministry (MoHa= Ministry of Home affairs) will mostly occupy itself with player retention (keeping new players interested in the game), recruitment of players (both from RL Belgian boards as well as from other countries in e-rep) and publishing tutorials to help out new players and guide them in the game. Manong’s food for new players concept is a great addition that can be implanted in this ministry. New players will be able to ask for advice and help here and maybe on the longer term we might be able to start a training company for new players (currently we are still lacking the money, something that will hopefully improve in the future)


My government


I haven’t decided who will be in my government if I win, but I can assure you that, in contrary to the current government, it is open to everyone and positions will be given to the best suited ppl rather than who’s best friends with the president or what party you are in. Everyone is free to apply and if you don’t have any experience, you are always welcome to become underminister or ambassador. The role of underminister is something new I want to add and includes that you will be second in command of the ministry and will be given the chance to work closely with your minister and more importantly, get a chance to learn the game and the mechanics from him in order to gain experience on that particular field of expertise in e-republik.


In conclusion I want to say that my goal is to create a free and neutral Belgium. Free from being a puppet from both EDEN as well as Phoenix, free from the Dutch and free from 'friends-first'-politics. I want to create a Belgium that welcomes everyone, regardless of their RL nationality or political allegiance. I want to create a eBelgium for the people, by the people.
