Devils Town

Đavolja Varoš (Devils Town) is atractive nature phenomenon in South Serbia maybe 90 km soutwest from Nis, near Kursumlija. It is in fact 202 rock formations maded by erosion and rain. This phenomenon is very rare in the world and similar appearences can be found in Alpes and USA but are much smaller. This location is under state protection from 1959 and from 1995 is natural good of outstanding importance and enjoy first category of state protection.There is also two natural spring located bellow the formations with the high mineral concentration.
First spring called Devils Water is extremly high acid water and with the high mineral concetrantion.

Djerdapska klisura

The Iron Gates, Djerdapska klisura is a gorge on the Danube River. It forms part of the boundary between Romania and Serbia. In the broad sense it encompasses a route of 134 km in the narrow sense it only encompasses the last barrier on this route, just beyond the Romanian city of Orsova, that contains two hydroelectric dams, with two power stations, Iron Gate I Hydroelectric Power Station and Iron Gate II Hydroelectric Power Station.The gorge lies between Romania in the north and Serbia in the south. At this point, the river separates the southern Carpathian Mountains from the northwestern foothills of the Balkan Mountains. The Romanian, Hungarian, Slovakian, German and Bulgarian names literally mean "Iron Gates" and are used to name the entire range of gorges.

Divcibare


Divcibare is a mountain resort situated on the mountain Maljen (1104m) in western Serbia, south-east of Valjevo, at the altitude of 980 metres above sea level. The permanent population of the town is 235 people (2002 census), although it varies significantly due to the flux of tourists and weekend house owners.Divcibare is a highland, surrounded by several peaks and saddles, covered with snow for three to four months each year. In other seasons, the micro-climate is rather pleasant, with 280 annual sunny days.The climate is attributed to fresh and dry winds coming from the Mediterranean.

Drina river


The Drina is a 346 kilometer long river, which forms most of the border between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia. It is the longest tributary of the Sava River and the longest karst river in the Dinaric Alps which belongs to the Danube river watershed. Its name is derived from the Latin name of the river which in turn is derived from Greek.The Drina originates between the slopes of the Maglic and Pivska planina mountains, between the villages of Scepan Polje (in Montenegro) and Hum (Bosnia and Herzegovina). At its origin, it flows west, then makes a large curve to the northeast, around the Malusa mountains. Next, it flows through the villages of Kosman, Prijedjel, Duceli, Celikovo Polje, Kopilovi, Trbusce, Brod and the town of Foca. It receives the Sutjeska, Bjelava and Bistrica rivers from the left and the Cehotina at Foca from the right.

Zasavica

The Zasavica is a bog in the region of Macva, west-central Serbia. With Obedska bara and Carska Bara one of the major wildlife refuges and one of the last authentically preserved wetlands in Serbia. In the 2000s became a popular attracton with the successful reintroduction of the beavers, which became extinct hundred years ago.In Zasavica live 23 species of fish, categorised in 8 families and 20 genera. The most common are members of the carp family. Of those, 20 species ar autochthonous and three are imported, though even the common carp had been introduced by Romans.Seven species are protecte😛 Umbra krameri, Rhodeus sericeus amarus,Cobitis tenia, etc. Six species are classified as endangered, five as vulnerable and six as rare. As part of the "Return of the autochthonous species of fish" project, wels catfish has been reintroduced into Zasavica.
