Scandinavian Wars [Day 2] - War rages on!

War continues as we move on to the second day. Germany quickly counterattacked Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Schleswig-Holstein & Hamburg after their initial retreat on the last two mentioned regions. It was two fierce battles going on for 24 hours, resulting in a victory for Germany on both fronts.
After Germany won back Schleswig-Holstein & Hamburg, the German president attacked Syddanmark (Sweden). Sweden is probably not going to win this battle since Germany is backed up by 9 MPPs. The only way to win the battle of Syddanmark is to use a lot of tanking, something I personally think Sweden don't want to spend too much money on.
If Germany is able to get hold of Nordjylland or Hovedstaden they could reach and attack the original regions of Sweden (Germany can reach Sweden via Mecklenburg, but on the other hand they would have to take a long way to Sweden's strongest region Svealand. If they want to beat Sweden fast and easy they have to use some kind of blitzkrieg tactic). However, activating Sweden's MPPs could also be very devastating for Germany.
After the latest region swaps yesterday Sweden lost a couple of MPPs. The last 24 hours Sweden has been signing a peace treaty with Spain, Romania and USA. Both Romania and Spain has proposed an alliance with Sweden and I'm sure that USA will also take that step as soon as possible. If the war is going to reach the original borders of Sweden it will be very important to have as much help as possible from our friends and EDEN. Neighbors such as UK, Germany and Russia shows us that Sweden can act as a "damage drainer", draining damage from important battles to less important battles.
After yesterdays swap of Nordjylland (Ownership was changed from Sweden to Norway) United Kingdom decided to attack that region. The attack in itself wasn't that good since Norway’s ally in that battle, Spain, could handle United Kingdom without any hassle.
There's been a very interesting day so far and we will probably see some more "bang for the bucks" before this war is over. It will also be interesting to see if Phoenix have the guts to start an all out war against Sweden. Since the days of Peace GC there's been a lot of talk to conquer Sweden, one of the few countries that yet have to discover how it feels to lose an original region.

skåne can be attacked from mecklenburg i believe? that would mean the germans can already attack swedish soil, no?

Patrask: You are absolutely correct. Sometimes I get stuck in my beta thinking and back then Germany and Sweden didn't share a border. I'll correct my article. 🙂
