RWs: Let's Start Smart

Day 1,470, 15:20 Published in USA USA by Mr. Booboo Kittybottoms

Welcome to eAmerica, the land of the Free, the Brave, and a bunch of Serbs and Poles (Pulls? Pools? Pewls? I still don't care). Over the last week or so we have had a rather successful campaign in assembling the pieces of our great nation back together. Some may call it luck, others may call it strategy. It seems to me like a little bit of both, mixed with a bunch of other stuff distracting our enemies. The point is though that we are off to a good start, and morale is high.

Partying in the Carolinas. Damn that is sexy!

This doesn't mean we should put our guard down though. Just last night (Day 1469 into Day 1470) we started a Resistance War in Tennessee, but what a terrible time it was started at. The mechanics of a Resistance War make the starting time the choice of the players who support it, which brings me to the point of this article: Think before you agree to support and set the campaign in motion!

At first the campaign last night seemed fine, we even won the first two battles against those smelly Serbs (no offense Serbia, it's propaganda). However, those were most likely because of the last minute fights of all of the Americans getting ready to go to sleep, myself included. I believe the RW started around 8:00pm Erep time. That means the start time for the first battle spanned the timezones from 8:00pm to 11:00pm in America. The main time zone for Serbia would have made that time about 5:00am the next day, most likely they were sleeping. Consider two battles later though, roughly four hours, and think of the shift in activity between sides. Now in America it would be between 12:00am and 3:00am, while the Serbians would be starting their day and fighting us in Tennessee for breakfast at 9:00am.

I personally went to sleep around 3:30am EST, and this is the screen-cap I took just before:

Notice the lack of attacking from our side...

When I awoke this morning at about 9:30am EST, the RW looked more like this:

They've now had a helping of attacking us for breakfast AND lunch...

Doesn't it seem like a bit of a waste to spend 10,000 USD to start a Resistance War at a time when the majority of our fighting force are nestled all snug in their beds? I think so, especially when the enemy is just waking up and starting their day. Don't forget also that the rules of RWs are changing in a way that makes losing worse than before. You can read these rules here or here. Both are fine articles about it, so I will support both.

I can understand the excitement of getting that Resistance War going, the hopes that you can get a medal and truly help eAmerica, but please: If you are going to be the tenth person to support the Resistance War, consider the factors such as the one named above before you click that button. We CAN take our country back, I have no doubt about that. If we want to do it effectively though we must do it smart, and this is only a start.
