Ruthless Poland attacks defenseless Hungary, ignores damage done by hackers.

Day 994, 13:40 Published in USA USA by Sossu

To the dismay of Phoenix and especially Hungary, already four days have passed since hackers did irreversible damage to Hungary, and admins haven’t retaliated accordingly. The MPP😒 worth thousands of Gold stay reversed due to the attack on Serbia, committed by hackers controlling the account of the Hungarian president, and most importantly, the invaluable MPP😒 activated by Poland and Romania stay abolished, greatly affecting to the abilities of Hungary to wage war against these nations.

Admin didn’t note the losses of Hungary at all in their latest article, and the claim that the Administration team is going to leave Hungary out on their own and not fix the damages done by hackings is further backed by an article claiming that from now on Admins answer to complaints about the issue with their trademark statement: “We have checked this issue and found nothing wrong.”

It very much seems that Hungary has no other option but to try and cope with the situation, no matter how unfair it is. There are no other options but to bite the tooth and continue fighting against the forces using illicit ways to achieve their goals, or quit the game. The situation has obviously sparked an outrage in Hungary, giving birth to many funny articles such as this one. Also the comment section of the latest Insider is rather amusing to read.

The apparent decision of not returning any MPP.s to Hungary might provoke other Eden nations than Poland to join the attacks on Hungary. For now, Hungary’s original territories haven’t been attacked, but Romania is always able and willing to attack Hungary, who is currently protected only by Pakistan, Lithuania and Ukraine. So does Croatia, who however don’t currently border Hungary’s original territories but could reach them after invading Northwest Croatia. Hungary’s fate hangs in the balance and they might very well fall under attacks of three powerful Eden nations during the next days. MPP😒 take 24 hours to sign and during that time Eden could grab nearly half of Hungary and possibly hold them for a long time as many Hungarian players have lost their motivation to continue playing and have left or are planning to leave the game. The Hungarian Ministry of Social Affairs is asking for the passwords of players who have quit for further use.

Poland took the official stance of not caring about the damage done to Hungary right from the start. They attacked and invaded the Hungarian region of Galicia and Lodomeria located next to Podolia in Ukraine while Hungary was in a state of disarray, and today they’ve launched an attack on now-Hungarian Podolia, a source of Iron. The Hungarian presence in Podolia seems to be cut short, as they face Poland in a 1vs1-battle, Poland being the stronger one of the duo. After invading the region from Romania, Hungary made a deal with the original owner, Ukraine, about occupying the region. Ukraine promised it for free until the end of October, but now the region is about to be transferred to Poland for an indefinite amount of time for free.

In the past, Poland was infamous for her fruitless campaigns to get her hands to Iron or pretty much any resource, as the original regions of Poland are empty from resources. Poland’s battles in Rhone Alps for wood, in North of Brazil for several resources and in Berlin for grain didn’t pay off, but on the eve of V2, USA agreed to lease several regions to them in return of a fee of 3000G monthly. This resurrected the Polish land sector, and obtaining Podolia will make it even stronger. Many guessed Poland was on it’s way to attack Serbian-held Liaoning and presumably renting it from China as China has 2 sources of Iron, but having Podolia makes the campaign obsolete at least from the Polish point of view. Poland might gather resources and tax revenues from Podolia until finally tossing Serbia from China for the sake of preserving Eden’s upper hand. Unless Admins reinstate the lost MPP😒, Poland is prone to reside in Podolia for a long time, giving them Iron for the first time in history.

The hackings have obviously infuriated the residents of Phoenix nations as the alliance is weakened as a whole when Hungary lost such powerful MPP-sets against Poland and Romania. Many residents of Eden nations however are happy that Phoenix finally knows how it feels when your plans are deliberately ruined by breaking the rules of eRepublik. Eden’s certain victories have turned in to dust in a matter of minutes when DDoS:es, exploitations of the broken war module, Russians with 1000 wellness and 5-day old players capable of fighting thousands of times have interfered and changed the course of battles. Many feel it’s only right to answer fire with fire and strike Phoenix with their own weapons.

I couldn’t disagree more. I’ve enjoyed the moral highground and liked the feeling of belonging to an alliance that doesn’t cheat excessively. Surely some Eden nations have cheated; there is no denying of that. Nor is there denying that Phoenix/PEACE cheating has been on a totally different level since the infamous Indonesian Q5-weapon cloning factories. The cheating is still done by one the inhabitants of one nation, Poland, but their actions are so severe they steer the course of the entire history and future events of the game. The blatant cheating leads to many Hungarians getting tired of this game and quitting, resulting to a weaker Phoenix = stronger Eden. Poland is the largest Eden nation and their actions matter the most in Europe, so witnessing them using bots, hence the picture above, is worrying and depressing and I wouldn’t want to be a part of such alliance which actions are defined by such acts. Sadly there is no option because Eden is more or less revolving around Poland, like Phoenix is revolving around Serbia.

To me, eRepublik has always been about the journey. It’s fun to plan campaigns ahead, sometimes months ahead, do careful planning and finally, slowly, start to pursue your goal. Then, when the battle starts, all your hard work unravels before your eyes in a matter of hours, and you either win or lose. If you lose, there is a possibility that you have to throw all plans from the window and start from scratch. If you win, it’s time to plan some more. eRepublik is a game about community, not winning. The prize is not obtaining virtual regions, the prize is to see the face of the community you are fighting against after you’ve beaten them on the battlefield. Today we see disappointed Hungarians as there is nothing fair in our likely victory tomorrow in Podolia. Some faces we won’t see ever again, driven from the game, saddened. Ultimately Admin is the one to blame from totally neglecting the happenings of the game and not reversing the unfair advantages obtained by hackers, but as Gandhi sai😛
