Russian Impeachment Falls Short, EDEN Stands to Benefit

Day 767, 12:39 Published in USA USA by Lieutenant Scheisskopf

Seems like chess isn’t the only thing baffling the Russian Bear

For the second time in as many weeks, an eRussian motion to impeach the permabanned President 4epT failed to pass with the necessary 66% approval, as was reported by Myles Robinson earlier today. The proposal was made on Congress Election Day partially to maximize the number of officials who would be eligible to vote on the matter; as a result, 51 people voted on the proposal in a country with only 40 Congress seats. Amazingly, only 33 of the Congress voters found it in eRussia’s best interests to oust their banned president. Who knows what the remaining 18 were thinking, but it is possible that some in Congress oppose who would become the president in 4epT's place if the impeachment passe😛 Orda. Personally, I do not think that is worth spending more weeks headless.

That the proposal could fail a second time, especially after what happened the first time, is stunning. By choice, the eRussians are neutralizing their ability to raise the heat on the eUSA and EDEN and supplement the recent string of victories their eHungarian allies have won in Asia. An eRussian offensive could tip the balance of power for Phoenix and against EDEN, but their failure to remove an inactive President who is NOT COMING BACK seems to defy all reason. An unpopular replacement president for one week is better than none at all.

During this time of inactivity, the eUSA is also afforded the chance to make headway on the eNorth Koreans without fearing an eRussian counterattack. As more eUSA citizens return to the game from their holidays, opportunities will arise to secure the Korean Peninsula and eliminate eNK as a Phoenix-friendly government. The eNK would not be able to region swap any more with eRussia in the next week anyways, because the permabanned president is still in office and cannot press the “Attack” button. EDEN could also achieve other objectives in Asia and elsewhere with less difficulty because eRussia will be headless for the next 7 days. Time will tell if the eUSA can capitalize on yet another week of a quiet border with eRussia and not having to sweat an eRussian attack.

I thought a couple of weeks ago that eRussia could be the x-factor because of its military power, strategic location, and savvy population. Events such as this show I could have been seriously mistaken about eRussia's capabilities, or that eRussia is too divided to focus on the war. Whatever the reason, EDEN would do well to benefit from eRussia's self-inflicted mistake.
