Running for PP of Independent Voices
Eamon_de Valera
I believe this party has been stagnant for too long, it needs new energy and I plan to give it that little bit extra. I truly believe that we can make this party a grand one, we can get people to join and become a party fighting for representation.
What do I believe we need to do to meet these ends?
I'll immediately clean house, those that are active will be asked to stay but we can't have any multis or zombies in this party.
I'll change the party's name, something that represents an ideological sector which doesn't have a voice in Irish politics, I'll make the party follow these strict ideological guidelines and principles. Something that people can easily identify with our party.
I'll campaign to bring in more members and bring an energy that people want to believe in. Members will come if we show them that we are serious and ready to make the jump into representation in the Dail.
So when time comes to vote for the Party Leader, choose me because I have an extensive track record of being ready to roll up my sleeves to make this party a great one.
Let us all work together to get this party out of its stagnant nature and into the eIrish government!

Eamon, Independent Voices was setup so as to allocate independents getting into congress. While I'm not personally a member, I think it should stay that way. If you want to be leader of a right wing party, the IFP awaits.
Change the party's name ? U dont think you should ask party members their opinion on this
Strict ideological guidelines seems a little bit... off.
I strongly agree with Theus.
Good luck!
If you find a way to get rid of zombies, please to let me know... I have a long time fear of the walking dead.
Good luck on your run.
No offence intended, pet, but Theus is right and I'll be coming home to rejoin the party and vote against this idea.
Ah well...it might have been set up as something; however, it seems that it has failed to work. Like I've said, it is a stagnant party and needs a new paint job. And I'm sorry Theus if you feel that way, perhaps you should start your own independent party if you feel so strongly.
I think the members will show their opinion in their voting record once the Party election commences.
I don't feel the need to, there is already a perfectly good party for this purpose, the one you are aiming to change. The party serves the niche of housing people who feel neither here nor there regarding parties and just want to do their own thing, it shouldn't be transformed into something else.
If you want to take over a party, there are far more suitable candidates down towards the lower rankings such as Anarchist Vanguard and the Irish Rugby Party.
As I said before, even if it had been created in the first place to become a place for Independent voters to enter into the Dail, that hasn't happened in some time. If there were enough people to meet that end, they would have joined already. As I said before, if the members of Independent Voices do not like my ideas for the future, they will be more than willing to vote me down. I'm sure there will be a number of people joining the party simply to vote in this matter and I'm prepared for that.
I'm happy that you feel so greatly for the disenfranchised of the nation; however, I do believe that your concerns have already been duly noted and you can move along for now.
Where do you get your information from ?? cos you might want to chk ur FACTS again , a dead party ?? "a place for Independent voters to enter into the Dail, that hasn't happened in some time." ?????????????
You have a challenger in the party elections now , and i have no doubt the party members will show you how inactive they are.
Disclaimer: I have not had my pain pill yet and I am in tremendous amount of pain. Anything I say after this point I will not be held liable for nor will I show any remorse. No take backs times infinity plus 1.
You can take your strict ideology and shove it up your eA***. We don't want any and I am fairly certain you will see that will be true come election day. I suggest you go prey on another unsuspecting party and get the f*** away from me and mine. Got it?
Inactivity should be addressed, yes. Ideology? Leave it alone.
@Castaneda...I am actually the challenger, my opponent was there before me.
@Edana – Somebody needs to cool herself down. Ideology? There is none. While I'm glad you are passionate about your position, I don't think your anger is quite necessary. This is not an unsuspecting party, I'm making my intention quite clear.
Yo Eamon, all parties in Ireland are stagnant, the same as it was a year ago. No parties have any real plans or are really different from one another. IV was set up for people who don't want to have their party name be their label.
IFP is right wing, I'd try there.
Happy to see you back btw, bring's me back to the Igor days 🙂
Oh there is an ideology. The fact that you don't think there is one is very telling. It is all over the place. In the name, in the attitudes, in the forums, in the newspaper, I don't know how you could miss it.
We do need leadership. Someone who can stoke the flames to burn them bright once again. But there is nothing wrong with our ideology. You change that and you will kill the party. Because most of us don't like to be shoved into wee little boxes of "strict ideologic guidelines and principles".
It is the passion and commitment to independent thinking and freedom to choose our own path that has made this party great. It is the people that define the party, and not the party defining the people. It's that organic approach to party ideology that makes IV unique. With the right leadership it will be great once again. But you, sir, are not the one to lead us.
Well I suppose the concerns of the few have been strong. I'll take the concerns of the party and hold my head up high as I will officially forfeit my attempt for Independent Voices leadership. I do think it unnecessary for some of the language used in the criticism; however, I'll consider the sources.
I will say this, to question my ability to lead based on your disagreement with my ideology is unfortunate. I'm glad to find that I'm still a fractious figure here. It warms the cockles of my heart. Now to take over another party.
@Eire Aontaithe: Try this...

I would have to agree with Edana here. I would hate to be in a party I love, only for it to be taken over and completely changed without being consulted. I wouldn't like to be treated like that.
