RLC elections

Day 1,668, 13:09 Published in USA USA by ztown

I think these PP elections will say a lot about the direction of this party. When I joined, the party was the Libertarian Party. I joined based on my RL political preferences. Shortly thereafter, it became the "let's just have fun and enjoy the game" party, the USMJ. Nobody took it seriously, but I was quickly realizing that due to game mechanics, politicians and parties can actually affect game play only slightly, and to the extent that they can, it has little to nothing to do with actual, real life political ideals. Most recently, the current PP posted a thread asking about the possibility of merging parties and changing the party name. There were a few responses:
-Please change the name, but don't merge
-We need more details about who you want to merge with and what they bring to the table for us
-Please do change the name

Contrary to any of these, we merged, and changed the name. We merged with a party run by the individual that all five major parties are typically trying to keep out of the Top 5. And now, both of the previous parties' PPs have endorsed the same candidate. I was going to vote for Dutch Marley, until he was endorsed by GCL. Now I am very concerned.

Either way, I picture an exodus from the party. If Dutch wins, many people (myself included) will look for another party which has not been taken over by AJ and his lackies. If he loses, I would imagine that the "Republican" contingent of the party will likely move into and try to take over another party. Only time will tell.
