Returning to Switzerland

This is perhaps the fifth or sixth time I’ve “introduced” myself to a nation, the third such occasion for Switzerland. I do this to meet new people, certainly, but also to announce to the Austrians and Swiss as ancient as I am that, for the time being, I have returned.

I will not let this article be, as similar articles of the past have been, a quagmire of my former titles. All one must know of my time in Austria is that I was three times President between June and September of 2009.

Many of those Swiss who I remember most fondly have served as President in my absence. This is a pleasant surprise. When I left Switzerland and the game altogether, the nation was in a condition where this would not have been possible. It was, I regretfully recall, under the hostile occupation of a relentless group headed by Arschmann and perpetuated by Clifford Burns. It was during this time that Eleriel passed to me leadership of the Swiss Liberal Party and the responsibility to win Congress back on behalf of real Swiss, which I spared no effort to do. Unfortunately, we were not able to win a majority and wrest back control of the country. The disappointment brought on by this failure resulted in my leaving the game.

I’m hoping that still more people from around my time, beyond those who knew me personally, will remember my articles and remember them as being passionate and meaningful. I pride myself in the eWorld as a commentator.

I do not know my present mission. Historically, I have never been a private citizen for long. Office, appointed or elected, finds me some way. For now, I intend just to enjoy Switzerland and negotiate the changes to the game and to the political climate of the world – but who knows what I may do in the near future!
