Retirement home for VETS, eGov4you and keeping the peace

Day 1,725, 01:42 Published in Ireland Ireland by Death and Taxes

Hello citizens of Ireland.

As you are aware, the military unit structure in Ireland is undergoing seismic change with a significant reduction in strength of the ICA and the introduction of three new military units. I hope the ICA survives and continues on with its historical and unique heritage in Irish Military affairs. I don't think any MU has been as exciting and eventful as they were.

The MU's in Ireland are now even more diverse but we all have something in common and that is we want to grow and survive. The Malontents are no different in that but I do believe we offer a variation that some players may find attractive, so to recap.

We are exclusively a Division 3 and Division 4 MU. If you are Division 1 you should be in the excellent Boot Camp. If you are in Division 2 we hope you grow up fast....

We do not operate a commune facility and so expect you to be self-sufficient. It's possible to do this if you utilise the supplies system the government use by following national priorities, so don't let that put you off.

There are no requirements to wear an avatar, to turn up for fights at a certain time, to be on IRC, or even complete the DO, in fact, this may be a perfect home for 2-clickers and people who are a little bored of the game at the moment. Think of it as a sleeper service, hence the title in this article.

Having said that, we are active, we rotate DO's around regularly and sensibly. We operate at all times of the day and night, and the unit is made up of very experienced players with an emphasis on being slightly cynical in a relaxed manner.

So, if you're interested or just want to chill out for a few days you're more than welcome to come aboard. I know a lot of you will find a happy home here.

Next topic: eGov4you

Exciting stuff here and home of the erratic PULSE project it is also invaluable in getting information in terms of how the country and its military units and citizens are doing.

Let's (conveniently) take The Malcontents as an example. But we'll start with Ireland first:

As you can see, militarily we rank #33 at the moment. We punch well above our comparative weight in damage. Interesting points from this snapshot is that eUK bring significantly more firepower to the battlefield - hence the peace treaty. Also please note that Argentina, Spain, Chile and Serbia have a high proportion of citizens but still rank below eUSA. This is because the US is an 'old' country with a large amount of D4 fighters. Time is not on their side however, Serbia and Argentina look like becoming dominant forces in the near future with Spain and Chile being a significant factor.

Here's our little country broken down by division and at the bottom you can see tanking and influence. Influence is damage and tanking is simply influence/(hit*3). There's some interesting stats there but I'll let you come up to your own conclusions 🙂

Taking our unit, you can see with out 9 members we are 4th in tanking and 4th in damage which isn't bad for a small bunch of Malcontents. You can then click on the unit in question and get more detailed results. Modesty prevents from doing the same but I do love the valuation option:

So if you want to know who's magical, mythical or titanic in your unit, these are the stats for you. MU's that are more regimented and organised might take this information a little too seriously. Like the game, this is just for fun, so please don't use this information to have a go at citizens or units.

Which brings me to the last point. Over the next few weeks we are likely to see a lot of activity as the military units scrabble over each other looking for fresh blood. At the same time, we hope with the current pieces of the jigsaw coming into place, that we get to go to war in an organised and logical fashion.

To be successful, we are going to have to cooperate as best we can, and that includes the MU's getting along and taking instructions from the government. So while we retain out fractured MU structure, I would urge all unit and their members to respect each other.

Thank you.

Malbekh

Commander of the Malcontents
