Response to Nick's Accusations

Day 272, 07:24 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by CBall

After reading a recent article by my fellow candidate Nick Appleton I am very shocked to have had such an attack by him. In his article he talks about 'power mongering' between TUP and UKRP. Personally I see this as words from a worried and maybe a slightly jealous man. TUP are putting forward as many candidates as possible in the elections and we are backing all of them equally.

I see this as a knee jerk reaction from a PCP candidate stemming from an article were Katie expressed her own opinion. If everyone else where to do what she did would Nick be accusing every other party? You said yourself that no official word of this or tip off have led to these accusations but from your own interpretation of the article.

Nick also mentioned about me not saying much about my aims apart from the usual mayoral roles. Well in my manifesto I talked about unemployment and how I will be focusing on that more than anything, my role as Minister of Work aiding me in this. I asked all mayors to work with the DoW by sending the names of all new citizens to us so we can get them jobs. Some slip through the net but with me as mayor I can offer new citizens a job as soon as possible. In a recent interview I talked about forum activity and getting the people of Liverpool talking which is greatly needed. If its citizens don't voice their concerns then how will we know how to improve? An educated action is far more efficient and effective than just guess work.

As for a lack of interest, I find this insulting. I have been active since January which shows that I am interested in eRepublik and all I do on it. I have always actively searched for ways to become more involved and if being a GM, former Party President, a current congressman and governmental minister is regarded as not active then I'd like to know what is.

If you do truly believe that I am only running for power then don't vote for me. If I do get elected I don't want it to have been from sheep voting but from people who believe that I am in this for the region, its citizens and everything connected.

I am willing to look past all the accusations and I wish Nick the best of luck on the 20th. Hopefully it will be a close election.

Thanks for reading!
