Resistance War Lottery [update]

A sincere thanks to all of you who have entered the Ministry of Community’s Resistance War Lottery. A special thanks to those of you who paid over the odds for tickets as an extra contribution to the fund.

This has turned out to be the best supported Community event in our experience, giving the lie to smart remarks in the eUK media to the effect that eIreland is dead and our friends have deserted us.

The winner of our first Resistance War lottery will be selected using tonight’s (July 20) RL Irish Lotto game. Numbers have been assigned based on the order in which donations were received. The first number drawn falling in the range of assigned numbers (e.g. 1-31) is the winner.

As there are 45 balls in the Irish Lottery drum, there is the mathematical possibility that no winner will emerge, in which case we will move to the Lotto Plus1 game, thence to Lotto Plus 2. If we still don’t have a winner after all that, then it suggests there are cosmic forces at work and maybe we should spend the ten grand on q5 prostitutes after all.

It’s still not too late to enter, by the way. Just make a donation of 150iep per ticket to MoC citizen account James Keiller. Any late entries will be shouted a number in the comments below prior to the draw.

So far that's 3100 IEP, is there extra money set aside somewhere for the prize or is it all coming from this? 😒

67 donations at 150 iep would give us enough for a RW

currently since there are 31 ( 31 x 150 ) = 4,650 iep . The community has the funds anyway and at the top it did say that some people paid over the odds

D-Glennon is right. There is a MoC RW Lottery fund in place since DerBrad's time to make up any shortfall. Total revenue gathered since the lottery was announced stands at 6750iep, thanks to people paying over the odds, sometimes WAY over the odds.
