Res Belgica proudly presents: FairTrade Food
Belgian Revolutionary Party
"Why fair trade?" To make eBelgium a more welcoming and friendly environment for new players to grow, the availability of low skilled workplaces together with a fair wage are the most essential elements. In the current difficult economical situation in our country the producers on the free market try to keep the wages as low as possible and too often neglect unskilled players, who due to their low Wellness and starting skills are a burden for the productivity of their companies. Today, skill level 0 jobs are mostly provided by the government, and skill level 1 jobs have become a rare phenomenon, and as Congressman Kylero very convincingly pointed out, it could work very demotivating to level up and not to see any benefits from it.
"How does fair trade work?" Res Belgica's FairTrade Food company provides only skill level 0 & 1 jobs to produce Q1 food, paying its employes a higher wage. Only local raw materials will be used in the production process. The products will then be sold on the market for a higher price, counting on the solidarity of the eBelgian population. Since our main goal is the improvement of the social security in our country, we're not expecting nor trying to make profit, but in order to cut down the losses a bit, our fair trade Q1 food will have to be sold at a more expensive price.
"Why should I buy fair trade food?" Well, because it's the fair thing to do. By buying our Q1 food at a higher price you ensure the continuation of the employment of low skilled workers for a higher wage. At the same time the higher price will generate a higher tax income for the national treasury. And last but not least, by supporting the FairTrade Food initiative you get to show the whole New World that eBelgium is a warm nation which holds solidarity close to its heart.
"How can I help the FairTrade Food initiative?" A good start would be to buy our products on the market. You can also donate to our official org in charge of the project (Commission for Infrastructure) - a list of generous donors will be published regularly. If you are a higher skilled player and you feel you could be of more service, you could always vollunteer for a job at FairTrade Food at a skill level 0 or 1 wage.
"Why is Res Belgica doing this?" As an eBelgian party for the eBelgian people, we see it as our duty to support our nation in every way we can, mostly by giving special attention to the most vulnarable group of our population - the young players. Furthermore, historically our party grew out of an active group of just such young players during the difficult time of eBritish exile and eSpanish occupation, and it's mostly those players who have defined its future political course. Our Social Department always received the highest party funds which made our New Citizens Support Program possible (from which more than 150 newcomers have benefitted to this day and which is still running), as well as our sporadic Wellness Control (handing out high quality food, gifts and moving tickets to a Hospital region) and other social initiatives. More updates on our Social Department will follow soon.

I wish I had money. 😛
Thanks for the reference 🙂
Also, when the minimum wage gets lowered, you'll be able to lower the prices as your operating costs won't be as large.
nice article
Good initiative!
Nice article, good job!
Good luck, even if it won't stay long, for economical reasons 😛.
Here, have some BRL
I'm guessing that more donations mean you can sell at a lower price: if I donate lots of Q1 food, you can pay decently and price competitively, which will give a cycle of positive feedback 🙂
Thank you for the positive reactions, and a special thank you for the generous donations to daniecox, but the whole point is to sell our own food, which may cost a little more expensive, but which is honestly produced by starting players at a decent wage. We're not trying to establish the cheapest prices for Q1 food (which would benefit the young citizens in some respect, but would be bad for the free market and the tax revenue), in the first place we're trying to create well payed skill 0 and 1 jobs for newcomers, an initiative which only can survive with the warm support of the more experienced players (who can afford more expensive food) and with private funding - any donation would be welcome, but having no illusions our main source of funding is the Res Belgica budget (which could sustain this project for some time to come, don't worry Jofroi 😉 ).
But the main message is: Show that eBelgians are a nation of kind people who support the weaker layers of the population by bying our FairTrade Food. Thanks to the minimum wage debasement our price should go down as well soon (which already happened on the free market).
Proper gemaakt !
great initiative. If it works out well it would be great to expand the idea to other markets. So if you ever plan on building a Fair Trade company for the extraction of raw materials, you can count on me to join the company 😁 PS: if that happens, please message me and let me know so that I can join.
never mind, I saw Ragoth's article explaining why there wouldn't be such a Fair Trade company for raw materials. But still, if it happens someday, let me know 😁
I just want to say I am now a full supporter of this initiative, regardless of what I (uninformedly) said in the congress debate forum.
Good initiative!!!
THank you all for the warm reactions 🙂
Thank you for the initiative, it's very helpful.
