Reflections - Parties.

Day 454, 19:41 Published in USA USA by Joeph Cole

A new citizen had me thinking about parties last night.
After turning it in my mind for a while, I have personally boiled down top 5 parties into what I believe 3 major duties.

Endorsements for country president, congressional elections, and then congressional voting.

Now, don't get offended when I say this, but every party is just as good as another in these three aspects.

90% of all proposals in front of congress are taxes, because taxes change constantly. I'm not going to explain why, that's not what this article is about.

There's no one single party that pushes to raise taxes, nor is there one that pushes to lower taxes, in every party, there's a mixture of the two. It jsut happens that way, because of the different social levels everyone is at. Whether it's a company owner that wants to raise import taxes, or some one that's holding on by the skin of their teeth and wants to lower the value added tax.
Erepublik does not lend it self to partisan issues, with everyone being from different walks of life, you're going to have as many opinions as you do members.

Congressional Elections,
Now this is what I believe is the main show of top 5 parties.
Depending on how the admins decide to set up elections, congressmen are voted upon party lines. This is especially true with younger citizens, mainly because they really don't read up upon the candidates. Some do, most don't. They assume that a member in their party is a good of a man as they believe themselves to be. And by listing parties first and them candidates second doesn't help the cause. (And if your party votes partly line persistently, and mindlessly, your party will receive the moniker "Zombies" [you know who you all are]).

Presidential Nominations / Endorsements
Party line voting is also an issue here too. If a party as enough heft, it can actually skew an election. Most top 5 parties carefully weigh their endorsement, and is in my opinion the least of the three, but they still have quite an impact, and must be chosen carefully.

About myself,

It seems that some of my plans have fallen through.
Last night I've decided to drop out from being a presidential candidate.
This next month is going to be hell for me and I couldn't execute the office of President of the United States to the best of my ability.

ATCK!
Idiot me forgot to run for PP.
And of course being the smallest party in the nation, it was immediately attacked.
So I lost my party for this month. Witch sucks for the two members that actually cared about the party.

I'm still working on a major project for the party though, I'll release more info on that whenever.
