Reflection on the Previous Month

Day 1,663, 05:21 Published in Japan Japan by Sumeragi Akeiko

It's been nearly a week since my last article, and a lot of things have happened during this time. Aside from the obvious change of government, externally rumbles in our neighbors might have large effects on the future of eJapan. It'll be interesting days to live in. But enough about the current world.

Looking back on how I behaved during my term as President, a word comes to min😛 pompous. Peeling back the propagandist way of saying things, my general style of writing was affectedly and irritatingly grand and solemn. It's a habit of speech which I picked up for some reason, but combined with my terse way to summarizing things to convey my thoughts, it certainly sounds self-important and arrogant. Regardless of my intentions, how I portray myself is just as important as what I actually do, and I have forgotten that fact. It's a fault I wish to apologize to the people of eJapan for.

In particular, I want to say to Geezus that I am sorry for how I did things in the first days of office before you resigned. Although he is a bit expansionary compared to most, he does have great ideas on how to provide welfare to the country. What the problem was is that as a business executive, my managerial method of thinking became the main way of how I did things, basically forcing Geezus to write a budget and tersely saying "later when we get things straigthened out". Asdie from having provided him the key to the bank, I should have been more positive in discussing things with him and also explained why I am delaying the implication of his idea. There are a lot of things I could have done better, and I wish to be able to work with him again, this time as equals and not as a boss-employee relationship.

Whether what I did in office was good or bad for eJapan, what is for certain is that my way of doing things was not suitable. eRepublik is a social game, where while one may be a president, is still equal to all others. My way of acting as a business owner was not right, and for this I apologize to all of you.

For a prosperous eJapan.
