The following way might do the job in a few days with a good profit. The way is by recycling currency. It is something that many old players involved with MM do a lot.
The first and crucial detail is to find countries that have frequent contact with each other, so there is a need among the players for a transaction or for travel. So if a player has no gold or does not want to spend the gold to get foreign currency, will necessarily need to convert his local currency into foreign.
For example, knowing that China and Indonesia (speaking hypothetically) have frequent contact with each other even if they are hostile countries, you can put into sale the currency of Indonesia.
