Recruitment Update Day 592 and a closing message from me.

A truly phenomenal response to the recent recruitment drive!
Great patriots and fierce fighters of Ireland, our ranks have swelled by nearly 50%.

It's not like me to be overly polite in the barracks ;0), but I'd like to personally thank all of the recent recruits who toughed it out and stayed in line, even when they were missing the GAA games, and the racing, and the pub. A sign of a truly committed soldier!

Tommorrow will be another big day in e-Ireland. CP elections are upon us, and we will be looking at changes throughout the country as a new cabinet settles itself into Dáil Éireann. There may be familiar faces, there may be new ones, but as I have said before, the daily work of our military must go on unimpeded.

So, brave troops, fear not change. You will continue to be valued as new and old members of our force, whatever the outcome.

Your job as a solider is to follow orders without debate, and to defend our great nation.
Be the best soldier you can personally be, and respect your superiors, for they will lead you to death or to glory. And they'll teach you the ways of the wise.

A glance in any barrack room will illustrate that we are not a partisan army. Each division, and the list of C.O's spans the political spectrum. Serving soldiers honour their brethren irrespective of their voting cards. This I can attest to personally, and I would hope every serving soldier would agree.

Politics is best left to politicians, as they are the ones with the flair and electoral mandate to effect change. We, my esteemed brothers-in-arms, will do as they bid. And we will do it proudly and without question. (Remember Hungary?)

Now, a short update on the structure as it stands today:

First a special thank you to Michael Collins, without whom those of you with irregular names would remain in the recruitment hall till skeletal. (apostrophes and dots in the citizens name take a special amount of work to assign, and MC is the patient man with the only solution) *salutes Collins*

We now have 13 Divisions in total. 13 is unlucky for some, unlucky for our enemies, I'd say.

Wherever possible, sitting congresspeople have been assigned to Divisions 1 and 12.
As the nature of elections mean that this list is a moving target, these special divisions are made up of those who will ALWAYS remain on home soil to defend the nation, whilst continuing to serve their constituents. I may have missed some in the recent rush, so all C.O.'s will be required to meet with their troops and ensure they are placed in the correct divisions .

Existing CO's remain in place. Some new faces are added, based on overall merit and a track record of outstanding performance. Congratulations are due to all.

Division 1 -CO binksy - Congress Division
Division 2 - CO declandonaghy88
Division 3 - CO Rollo Tomassi
Division 4 - CO Semprini
Division 5 - CO edfluff
Division 6 - CO Conor Larkin
Division 7 - CO TBC - Lower Reserves
Division 8 - CO Niall H
Division 9 - CO DashRiprock - Higher Reserves
Division 10 - CO GarrettDA
Division 11 - CO TopGun - Foreign Legion
Division 12 - CO Teutorix Aleria - Congress Division
Division 13 - CO Castaneda - Mobile Division (Overseas)

May I formally welcome the new faces, and thank the existing CO's for their continued service. Though we have faced difficult times lately, I appreciate the willingness of you all to engage in lively negotiations with me about the required discipline of command.
Shortly, official deputy CO's will be appointed to each division to ensure continuity of command in the event of overseas mobilisation, or RL absence.

There are a number of initiatives still underway to improve on the operational standards, general discipline and communication structure in the IDF. I would appeal directly to the next Minister of Defence to consider these upon appointment. A great deal of work has gone into getting us this far, and it would be criminal *yes, strong word* to waste that.

So now soldiers, what's next? You will be hearing from your respective C.O.s very shortly, as they introduce you to IDF and familiarise you with the re-shuffled barracks rosters.
I would implore you all to take this opportunity to get to know your comrades asap.
One day, you may owe your e-life to them.

*leans back and reflects*

So, this is my last day in the big chair. (Sev couldn't persuade me to get off it, and he is sitting angrily on a camp-stool, glaring LOL)

I can assure the next CP that my CV will be on their desk first thing Monday morning.
I would like to offer my continuing services as deputy M.o.D. to the next Minister of Defence, War Council, and Country President.

However, despite my recent public battle-frenzy, I am fully aware that another more qualified candidate may offer their services too. I will accept my fate as it comes, and continue to serve as a foot-soldier in my beloved old Div 3, under Rollo's command now, unless I am ordered to do otherwise.

Goodnight, brave comrades, I thank you for the opportunity you have given me to serve. It was an honour, and a privilege.

Get some sleep before the elections, for tomorrow there will be parties til dawn.

Dismissed. *salutes*

Gráinne Ní Mháille
Deputy Minister of Defence.
