Not much can be done. The eRep market bot to counteract overproduction has pumped a ton of currency into the markets of EVERY country. The economy is glooming everywhere. I spent a lot of gold fighting the devaluation of our currency, and I only delayed the inevitable. I was able to keep us around 0.010 longer than most countries. All countries are floating around 0.002-0.005 now.

That might be true but the government should address this subject and guide its citizens.
I am not criticizing the government for not doing anything- I am saying that if it is doing something, we are not told about it and that’s a shame!

I completely agree with that sentiment, Haemon. That's why I started my monthly tax articles. I heartily endorse a lot more transparency from the government.

The government's position is that the admins are making it impossible to govern the economy, so we've separated the essential operation of the economy for the defence of the country by communising the military.

We can only do damage control while the admins have the current system in place, or while they keep changing it.

I feel you have misread my meanings. I’m not criticizing the government’s economical policy, I’m criticizing the fact that there is no transparency- the citizens do not know what the government is doing (in all areas- not only economically). The game doesn’t give enough room for the government to stay in touch with the citizens and therefore I felt the need to make a Newspaper that helps the citizens, new and old, understand what their government is up to.

The "government's" position is changing like the mood of a teenage girl in love. Once launching a deluded campaign of bringing the Gold/IEP to a "natural" rate of 190(!), then completely abandoning the monetary and letting the rate swing more than 100%. Proposing a tax reform and again postponing it and never again again readdressing the issue.

Fact is that the current administration (aka Marcus' clique) cannot into numbers. It is of course not the admins making it impossible to govern the economy, but the total and ultimate lack of insight and complete ignorance of those in the govt & army leadership.

However I strongly advise you against poking your nose into their dealing - you can easily end up like me: Marcus' just banned me from the national forum as a pettyminded revenge for me reporting his in-game vulgar insults.

Criticise the and you'll soon become a 'troll', 'full of shit', a 'fascist' and a 'PTOer'. Echo their self-glorification and you can even become a VP - even if you had provenly stolen from the community.

Btw, Bhane is to some extent right. The recent changes made our relative disadvantages fixed. Whatever we do, we'll be in a comparative disadvantage to bigger countries.

Naturally that doesn't mean that a government couldn't or shouldn't take steps to reduce that disadvantage. Only that we needed a competent government for that.

Most average citizens do not sign up for extraneous forums and sub-forums. I entreat you to use the in-game communication tools a lot more, and the private forums a lot less.

Stranger, the maximally active population of Ireland is about three or four dozen people, always has been.

Two-clickers don't exactly do anything other than two click, or else we would be able to get them into the military..
