re: patton and the Vote of no Confidence

Day 549, 11:34 Published in Ireland Ireland by uaithne

I am not currently a member of Congress but as a life long citizen of eIreland I feel I need to speak up. I am sure what I have to say will not change any minds, but I will say them nonetheless.

There is a vote in the eIrish forum as to whether or not our Minister of Finance should be replaced. By all means, if an official is not performing the duty that he/she was elected to, then said person needs to be replaced. With that I don't disagree. What I do disagree with is this seemingly vendetta.

Quite often there is a notice that there are currently no jobs for 0 skill citizens, regardless of who is acting Minister. It happens maybe in part because this is an internet game. I think we all know that the internet is hardly flawless and some of us may have limitations as to our internet use. Has a call for a Vote of no Confidence been called for every time? No, it has not. I am not making an excuse for patton. I assume he knew of any limitations he may have and would have appointed a Deputy Minister to aid him with any difficulties he may come across due to his internet.

So while it is being decided whether or not our Minister has been adequately performing his duties, how many of you are looking at the exact data? For example, how many times were there no jobs available and for how long? During what time of the day, since some people need to sleep? How fast were the available jobs filled? Were they filled during the night? What responsibilities were given to his Deputy Minister to take up any slack?

I ask these questions because they are the questions that should be asked before taking severe action. Another question that needs to be asked is how many of you have been gunning for patton, for lack of a better phrase, from the moment Nithraldur made his announcement, and were looking to jump at the first chance available because you disagreed with who our President chose for this position?

This article is not necessarily in defence of what patton may or may not have done. It is to point out what could be conceived by some as an abuse of power. The power of some (12 ?) elected officials to use our Constitution to get their way.

In closing I would just like to say that song lyrics come to mind- "Come together, right now....."
