R.I.P. Miodrag Pantelić - Gloshky

There is no easy way to announce a terrible news: today, a few minutes after 9 am.our beloved friend left us forever – Miodrag Pantelic – Gloshky (alias Mister Spooky).was aware of the imminent He was born on September 8, 1970 and died on December 28, 2013, at the age of 44.

When a few of us, his closest friends who he had shared his worries with, hoped that he had managed to cope with a terrible evil that befell him more than a year ago, our 'Baldy' left us to go to eternity.

He left the same way he lived – like a real man, rowdy, hard; he faced a terminal illness with a smile on his face. And, when he realized he couldn't win, he did not let it defeat him. His ally was a clot in the lung.

He mocked his illness since his birthday in a restaurant in 2012, when he only sensed that something unusual was going on, until the very end. He did not let it scare him, or disrupt his way of living. Such strong will, manliness, courage – I have not ever seen. Since the moment he was aware of his illness, and onwards , he survived a very difficult and serious operation, and a kind of postoperative period that only in Serbia can happen, and a difficult treatment. But, despite of his pain, he held bravely, all turned it all into a joke, playing fun with his condition, as if it hadn't been there. However, there it was, and too much of it. He led the hard battle, in which victories are scarce, hoping to succeed . And all of us hoped with him.

When some time ago, he was urgently admitted to the hospital, I went to see him. With a voice that would not tolerate any discussion, he sai😛 "Go home, Neško". Long ago I learned that the desire of a patient does not have to be understood, but respecte😛 I realized that Miodrag was aware that the end was near. He did not want a tough guy the streets of Voždovac to be seen, not even by a man who understood and respected his credo, spirit and temperament.
Glosky was a rowdy. A charmer. The one who grew up in Belgrade in the second half of the last century. The one whose rigid face hides great humanity and moral code. The one with a heart many times larger than the physical body.

There was nothing he would refuse to a friend. No celebration he would miss. No price he wouldn't pay. Again, with his fierce temper, he would snap and threaten if necessary. And, by God, even after a serious operation, when he became physically "halved", I would bet on him at any time.

Not just because he was my friend. But also because he was my friend. And because I knew him: his temperament, his cheeky smile and what was hidden behind. And because of courage, and honor.

Mourning and crying he would not tolerate, for Gloshky it was always a sign of weakness. Only his beloved can mourn now, those who fought a difficult battle together with him. His favorite one, and his dearestt, daughter Anđa, and son Laki, whom he taught to be a real charmer and rowdy like his father. His wife Miljana, much more than the love of his life and his support, for whom that seemingly tough guy with the iron heart and suppressed emotions would tell me - "I do not know what I'd do without her."

I will certainly, like all of his friends, bite the bullet and tighten my bleeding heart, because he would be angry at our weakness. And I know that he will there, where the pain is gone, along with our beloved and deceased friend SPOP, take the best place in a bar with good food and music ... And wait for the rest of us, as we join them one by one, to pay the next round.

I won't tell you “farewell”, my friend, my “Baldy”. Just this: may angels guard you forever.
