Should the eUS military be subject to greater external accountability?
Background
As I understand it, the eUS military currently holds their membership accountable through internal mechanisms, “1. The eUSA armed forces shall organize and operate themselves as they see fit.” (eUS Constitution) In addition, the recent controversy between HR and NXNW has reminded much of the eUS population that the military appoints the Chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) through appointment by the Chiefs of Staff.
While there are clearly some forms of external accountability with military funding requests to Congress, my question is specifically asking whether there should be greater external accountability.

Yes. In this case NXNW was trying to control foreign policy which goes hand in hand with military strategy.
Foreign Policy should lie within the Executive Branch so in the case of a conflict like what happened there needs to be a chain of command so we as a nation can act. There is a series of checks and balances in place which are formalized whithin the constititution and lie externally from any formal channels. The military should control strategy and executive should control policy.
Yes.
The President is the Commander in Cheif and he has the final say in all policy matters. Any other way will just cause confusion.
Great question
Yes. The military needs to remember where their money comes from.. If they want to keep getting funding they need to listen to the president
Pike is just a hater because he got kicked out of the eUS forces 😉
Yes, more external control. President must have final say. He is the one that pulls together the diplomatic, economic and military efforts to a coordinated end.
President > CJCS, always. The button pusher should get the final say on what buttons to push.
President should have final say, unless he is making an impeachable decision. Then the military should be able to refuse orders until the impeachment vote has occured.
Also, I am not implying HR should face impeachment for the decision of where to fight. This was a case where there were 2 reasonable positions and we need the military to follow presidential orders in that instance.
OMG LOL UR WORS THEAN MEEEEEE
NO. The amount of control that exists as of THIS day (Day 916) is entirely appropriate. No more is necessary.
See what I did thar Tep?
P.S. Thanks to the 27 out of 59 Congressman that found the time to vote one way or the other on the issue IN CONGRESS. By the way.
I think I did Candor 😉
