It has come to my, Crazy Quilt Lady, attention while searching for voters in Queensland that the general Wellness of Queenslanders is pretty low almost like they were living in a mosquito infested swamp. It then came to mind that it isn't because the mosquitoes are any more numerous, or the crocs any more fierce in Queensland but because there is no Hospital. Thus the mosquitoes and the crocs really take their toll, with the occasional platypus spine thrust in there for the "WTF! I didn't know they were poisonous!" factor.
Creating a Gift Exchange for the people of Queensland is one of the things on my agenda as Congresswoman. But I figure why wait until after I am voted into Congress. Queenslanders need Wellness and they need it now. As you may know there is a Training War happening in Malaysia to improve the Wellness of Australians. But without a Hospital a Training War does you about as much good as a grilled prawn to a koala. There might as well not be a war for all the good it does for the people of Queensland. That is where a Gift Exchange can help.
So what is a Gift Exchange? I'm so glad I asked for you. Gifts provide 1 Wellness gain for every quality level of the Gift. This is in addition to daily Wellness gains from Food and House, up to a maximum of 10 Wellness per day. They're like snacks. The catch is that you can't just buy yourself a Gift. Gifts must be "given" to someone else. You do this by visiting your friend's profile and clicking on "offer gift" below "send message" below their avatar. If you have a Gift in your inventory, it will be used to improve the Wellness of your friend. It is only polite then for you friend to Gift you back as much as you gifted him/her. Unfortunately, Gifts are not free Wellness like a Hospital. You have to buy them. But Gifts are something Australia has in abundance.

Good idea. I live in NSW but would be happy to help out now and again when I can. Maybe some kind of register of QLD residents who would like to receive gifts can be posted on the Forums? That way anyone who has some extra cash can do something beneficial for fellow eAussies.
I got the idea for this way back when I was living in eUSA. No one had thought of Training Wars yet, so they had gifting partnerships set up. It wasn't as quick as fighting, but nor did you have to live in a region with a Hospital. It can work in time of peace, or in time of war. The cost is up to the citizens to pay (mostly in this case) but it can endure for as long as citizens have need of it. And yes, it is good for the economy in generating Gift sales ( not for me as my Gift Company was American and is now Indonesian ), which then stimulates Diamond sales, and finally in improving productivity. It's an idea that has been used before by our socialist-minded government. However, these programs come and go as often as the Senate changes its mind about such things.
