what are the chances that a new business will survive and thrive in eCanada?
By how much will you increase Canada's GOLD reserve?
Depends on the sector, starting capital and activity of the user.
If i had 30 gold to start a company, I would start a gifts company and bug every person at the government owned training companies to get a job with you. Diamonds are cheap here to that will reduce costs.
Right now, demand is increasing far faster then supply so its the best time to start a company.
Yeah I and a partner of mine made a q2 gifting company today they sell quite well but another sector would be q2 weapons same as gifts supply can't match demand.
@Banach
Right now gold reserves are around 400, ceteris parabis I should be at 500 by months end on Shinra sales alone.
If Tom/Congress would get the tax reforms passed soon (currently needs proposing in-game due to the 2 proposal limit its a pain) and the currency market is where I want it, I expect to pull in 70-100gold a week at first, increasing provided the monetary market remains favorable. Right now, my monetary policy is hinged on increasing the value of CAD to prevent the negative effects of dumping CAD on the market to get gold.
To summarize, as soon as I am bringing in regular gold off the market I will give the greenlight for congress to increase the CAF budget to 26K a month with a large portion going to gold.
If my estimations are correct, I expect 750+ gold by the end of this term. WHich at this point will be my final term as MoF.
Yeah cesar, only issue is Iron is in short supply for the most part, diamonds are pretty cheap here.
Yeah if we could get enough Iron then weapons would be set. Diamonds are cheap atm , I wouldn't say we have an abundance of them but we do have a fair bit which bodes well for the gifting industry, we need a way to import Iron or at least aquire more.
I support the new tax policies the government is starting to take on. If we want to survive as a nation we need a larger budget. Rising income tax from 1% to 5% is a great start, and hopefully it'll give us a stronger foundation.
Something that I'm not completely clear on is Defense Systems. Seems as if we should have some fortification in place (especially in Nunavut, Ontario and B.C. where the hospitals are) given the current state of our armed forces. They may not be practical or maybe not previously affordable. I was wondering how much would one cost? (q1-q5) and whither or not it would be worth it?

By the time I left office in September, my government had managed to increase the nations Gold Reserves to 3000 Gold, whereas my fiscal policies were continued by Cottus Arci after me. My question to the honorable Minister of Finance is this: What has the Government of eCanada done with the 2600 Gold currently unaccounted for?
Certain Crown Corporations only account for a portion of this gold.
My follow up question, Mr. Minister, is why wasn't the the nations Gold used to upgrade essential government assets such as my former flagship company Larkhill Biological Weaponry Q4 Facility to Q5, and Health Canada from Q4 to Q5?
Adam Sutler...
Sutler, no offence but September was a long time ago. I can see Minister Rearden having substantial difficulties answering that as none of the current government even know or remember what was going on in September.
No offense taken. My tone is not accusatory, and I know that as of October when I retired, the treasury was resting safely around 3000 Gold. I mearly wish to know what the Banach, Tantis, and newly elected Hagan administrations did with the rest of this hard earned gold.
so Sutler... you're back now? is this your triumpahant return?
Sorry for my delay Mr. Sutler
When I originally received the password for the National Bank of Canada, this includes what was in the Ministry of Finance OA, I moved the assets over, there was 2380.83 GOLD
11378 CAD exactly (verifiable by the following post http://ecanada.forumotion.co.uk/ministry-of-finance-f4/current-assets-t700.htm).
Gold expenditures for the month of November were as follows (copied from a previous article where I explained spendin)
350 of that gold went to the Q5 defense company. 120 Gold went to export licenses to not allow the one area of the economy that Canada has a natural advantage in RM and was the last major intervention into the economy. 100 Gold went to fund the current Canadian Legion adventure (most private military campaign) to help eliminate PEACE. Around 150 gold (don't remember the exact number off the top of my head) went to CAF for tank training.
Since that post an additional 1000 was spent on French conflict, 628 was stolen/disappeared without record
413 gold was then transferred to the Bank from the treasury, with 30 gold then being spent to pay for an MPP renewal with the US and 20 gold for an export license to Vincent Valentine for the US (which has since brought 16 gold in nearly covering the cost).
100 gold was listed on the monetary market with a portion sold (prior to the Hagen administration) and then removed once the market was back where it had been (30-38CAD/gold) this accounts for the tid bit of gold not accounted for in the preceding math.
I am more then happy to account for every cent of gold spent, however it would be significantly harder to gauge the amount of CAD spent, but it was not handed out wantonly.
Joey: defintely worth it, at current production we should have our first Q5 defense system by the end of the month
Bellinzona: Though my official stance in regards to Switzerland is that of the Canadian government, I personally (as Alexander Rearden not Minister of Finance) view a libertarian Switzerland is an excellent state, and hope to visit on my world tour in the coming months.
No, this is merely a periodic check up on the state of eCanadian affairs. I have no plans to come out of retirement.
I thank the honorable minister for the detailed and speedy reply.
and i was even getting my hopes up ....
My pleasure mr. Sutler
