This week we were able to pass legislation that will hopefully help us pay for the Katakana rental from eIndia. I know that there are some out there who aren't happy about the 2% tax increase. I do understand why as well. As a Congressman, I know that to do the right thing, that sometimes I'll have to do what's unpopular. Whether it hurts me at the polls on the 25th remains to be seen, but I can tell you that I went back and forth on my decision to support a tax increase of any kind. In the end, and based on the facts and figures that I read from various people, I felt that supporting the tax increase at this time was the right thing to do.
