Preston Sage: Congressional Voting Record Week 1

Day 838, 16:06 Published in USA USA by Preston Sage

This is my first weekly report of my Congressional voting record. It has actually been ten days since I was elected into congress, but I figured that it would be better to publish my weekly article on Sunday, instead of in the middle of the week. There has been a huge uproar over the proposed income tax hikes in congress...just as I knew it would be. I have always been before the whole process being out in the open, and the way that it has gone down so far hasn't made anyone in Congress look good. Whether they have been against the income tax hikes or for them. I stand by my voting record. While I think that we may need to help pay for renting Karnataka with a slight income tax raise(even if for a short while), I think that what has been proposed so far is a little too extreme for my tastes.

I am going to continue to push for open dialogue with the public on this issue. I think that both sides(the public and congress) need to be willing to make some sacrifices if we are going to get our economy running strong again. Too many countries in eRepublik seem to know what they are doing when it comes to this, so why can't we? I won’t pretend to have all of the answers on this issue, but I am willing to help do whatever it takes to solve this problem.

I haven’t started my commitment to mass mailing the state of Virginia about the advantages of living in a fortress state. Honestly, I didn’t know that being a congressman would take up most of my free time. I will have some time to start on it this week however, so I will be able to give you some news about that next week.
