Presidential Update - Day 722
patton
Here is whats happening in Ireland today
- The vote on the US War Games failed to pass the Dail. Im personally disappointed and am working hard with the presidents of the US and the UK as well as opposition members in the Dail to get something on this passed. As of right now we have no war games and I think it would be beneficial for us to receive free never ending war games. Most of the opposition was caused by fear of invasion by PEACE through the UK. I have talked extensively with Mr Woldy, president of the UK and he has assured me the UK has no problem with the war game and will never attack us even if ordered by PEACE. He and I are both firm supporters of the Rhaleigh treaty and he has offered to publicize his thoughts with an article on the UK's position in our media
- Minister of Foreign Affairs Bryan O'Shea has resigned due to rl issues. I have re appointed Darragh O Faolin in his stead. Niall H will continue to serve as head Minister
- Minister of Immigration DashRipRock has asked for permission to become a deputy in FA which, I have granted. Consequently I now need a Minister of Immigration
- Conor Larkin and I are discussing reversing the policy the MoD came out in respect to the OGD. It is my belief that you shouldnt have to resign from the IDF to be with OGD. However, I respect the opinions of my CoS and we might meet somewhere in the middle on this
- One of our greatest citizens, Donovan Thomas has left Ireland. Im sorry people of Ireland that I wasnt able to keep him here. I wish Donovan luck in his future endeavors. It had been my wish to support Donovan in a bid for the presidency this past election but he was not able to run. Ireland has lost one of the best if not best MoDs we have ever had.
Hope you enjoyed today's daily update. Please remember to subscribe and vote to this and all other government articles and newspapers. Thank you and have a great eDAY

Good to see that bit about the eUK as well as the possibility of reversing the OGD decision. Voted on up!
That sounds great (regarding war games). 🙂 I expected threat of invasion would be the top reason for eIreland rejecting war games, but make sure eUK won't region-swap either. XD Maybe after that, eIreland's Congress will be up for it? I'd like to see it happen. 🙂
Hmm lots of sad news. Good updates regardless.
*Raleigh Treaty
"but make sure eUK won't region-swap either"
Article III: Non-Aggression
"Both Ireland and the UK agree to not allow another foreign power to use their regions in order to attack one another through the uses of region swaps. Region swaps are defined as the tactical retreat of in-game regions in order to make a border with another foreign power."
Put your mind at ease?
You guys voted down the war games?!?
D'OH!
yeah Sweet. the Neutrals said we would get invaded, in other words the do not want us to rank up
Watch it, John. I'm not a neutral and I'm not against war games. And I'm certainly not against ranking up. I dont' think any TD is against ranking up. *shakes head* Not nice.
@Patton I'm glad to see that we are getting our questions answered. 🙂
Fail...
I'm a neutral and this decision doesn't represent me.
If people are so afraid of PEACE, why vote down an agreement that will cement our relationship with Brolliance?
My sympathies patton, you worked very hard to arrange this only to have it thrown back in your face.
I would like to know who voted against this.
Oh let alone do the "hard working" congressmen of this country not want us to have fun by joining an alliance, they dont want us to have wargames.
ITS ONLY A GAME IDIOTS
It could be useful if people would ask their TD what they vote foron sensitiv issues. I think it would hugely improve the quality of TDs in the Dail
I like that idea Rollo 🙂
lol
*just watching today*
*from my Russian Org, recently bequeathed to me*
*too busy fightin the Hun, in an occupied territory, to care much*
Good Luck, in your endeavours..

Mmmmiaaaoouuw.
"It could be useful if people would ask their TD what they vote foron sensitiv issues. I think it would hugely improve the quality of TDs in the Dail"
You've hit the nail on the head there Rollo
In all my time in the Dail I was never contacted by a citizens to vote in a particlur way
I think the vote failed myself because it was rushed through but in saying that I'm surprised it didn't pass.
Shame shame.
Everyone write your congressman now!
FD *Put your mind at ease?*
Tá bron orm....Níl mé sásta. This game turns on a dime, sir, as you well know. Always good to see you, though. *G*
♥ The Princess is saddened by patton's tone in this update.
Cheer up, Mr. President ♥
♥ Wargames: The Princess is personally upset with the decision.
♥ As for the bit about Donovan Thomas, the Princess is upset as he never returned her last PM 🙁 She misses him.
♥ Tell Conor Larkin I said hello 🙂
UK says they'll supposrt us, and the Dali still says no to free war games?
How could we not pass free war games?
Unfortunately I missed the vote but it didn't pass because there were procedural hang-ups. The Dail does support Free war games, of course 🙂
We'll make this right very soon.
scratches head wondering why ministers are using government orgs to make comments on articles
@Rollo and Pip - I was TD twice and in my manifesto, certainly the first time which I believe I referred to the second, I specifically invited people to talk to me about how they felt on issues. Nada.

♥ The Princess would like to make a correction to her previous comment: Donovan Thomas has returned all of my PMs. But she will still miss him ♥
@GG: Perhaps it is because they think it is rather savvy. But I must say, the Princess does become confused about who is who when this occurs. ♥
