Presidential "Candidates"

Day 280, 21:42 Published in USA USA by Nave Saikiliah

As most of you know (or SHOULD know), the five most popular parties are represented by their respective leaders on the general election ballot every month. With the upcoming election looming around the corner -- and a largely unconvinced populace -- there needs to be a bit more excitement and enthusiasm.

Not by the citizens. It's okay for citizens to be apathetic towards politics. That's kind of the point of politics: to bore the general populace into a lull and consolidate power to the few. Trust me -- I would know -- I was a president for three terms.

But the point of party leaders, especially the main ones, is to represent their loyal followings. The United States Workers Party has over 450 members; their leader is throwing his support to Archibald.

Now, that would be borderline acceptable if Archibald was "The Man" (the way we refer to legends, not the way Jack Black refers to authority). If Archibald was a complete shoe-in for the election and the USWP mostly supported him, that would be fine. But Archibald is not exactly loved, and while he's not exactly hated either, he deserves some competition.

The other party leaders aren't too hot either. No one has riled his own party's base -- no one has attempted to sway the undecideds (there are a bunch of them, and Archibald will get them all in five days). No one is representing his party well, which is a travesty to e-American policies.

I will try to get back into the swing of things, either by starting a party or joining it and campaigning for the leader position. That way, next month, the election should be a bit more interesting. Even if Archibald wins his third term, he'll have to work a lot harder for it, which should lead to better results and a happier and more efficient country.

God bless America 🙂
