An Official Outlet of the eUS Government
10 September, 2009, Day 660 of the New World - Just six days away from possibly the most important day of eRepublik, and a lot has happened. Over just the past few days, the United States Government has been working tirelessly on various projects for the citizens of its rebuilding country still in a state of constantly shifting war. This issue is released to be an informative article reviewing the nation's changes from the viewpoints of the nation's Vice President, Jewitt.

BREAKING NEWS: Gaius Julius Appointed to Presidency

President Emerick has come down with the e-flu; also known as reality. Due to real life events and concerns, Emerick will no longer be able to uphold the duties of being President. During the past few days, Gaius has worked to keep the government moving. We are very efficient and already had a game plan in the event of Emerick having to be removed from office.

An impeachment will be passed through Congress beginning at 8pm EST and when it is completed, Secretary of State Gaius Julius will be the new President of the United States - being the second President to be appointed via impeachment (the first being Scrabman after Uncle Sam's impeachment trials). The cabinet will remain untouched save for a new Secretary of State and the government will continue to work as usual. I will continue to serve as Vice President. Gaius Julius has been involved with the their government every step of the way. He has been hands on with President Emerick every step of the way, this allows him to continue exactly where President Emerick left off. Today we have lost a truly beloved leader, but Gaius is ready and willing to fill the very big shoes of President Emerick

War Goes South - Literally

The United States had brought Russia down to just a handful of states occupied, all while Colombia attacked the southern borderlands relentlessly in an attempt to distract the U.S. Citizenry, and that it did. The amount of damage wasted in the fights for New Mexico and Texas could had won both Illinois (see next paragraph for importance) and Connecticut. All the while, orders are in the top five of the media almost always as well as a Greasemonkey Script for Firefox users to use to get immediate orders. Communication still is not perfect, but it has improved.

Illinois was important for many reasons, but the one at the top of the list is apparent if anyone looks at eGobba. That is right eAmerica, that dark blue Russia is now touching that lighter blue Colombia. What does this mean? Possibly a war declaration between the two. "But Jewitt, they're allies! Why would they attack?" I have heard this at least four times in private message. If Russia was to attack and Colombia was to retreat all of the Colombian-held US regions then, well...Russia has four (potentially six) more territories. Of which, one is Texas (and maybe California depending).

Now, Russia will never be able to hold onto this empire for much longer. They are spending more money every other day on war declarations, region swaps, and tanking* than the entire US military is on arming our boys and girls in fatigues for these battles.† Good job Russia! Just like the UK you guys are wasting money on a cause that will eventually be lost. Too bad you guys did not want that one treaty, which had paid you over 200 GOLD per region. Now you're spending over 425 GOLD just to maintain your occupational means for every five regions.

*Does not figure general soldier arming cost on the Russia and Allies side. Conservative estimate: 340.00 GOLD.
Based on straight figuring by tracking war declaration costs, attack costs, and an error of ±20.00 GOLD.

» The Citizen Task Force, headed by Serendipitous, is in full swing. Its mission statement is to review citizenship applications and investigate them to prove their legitimacy or potential for political takeovers. A great asset for Congressional deliberation, and it is now 100% online!

» The State Department, headed by Gaius Julius, has begun working on repairing relations with formerly enemy and hostile nations. The State Department's stance on a post-war USA has been "Maybe Forgive, and Forget." Essentially: We will not hold grudges - grudges are what started this war and every one before it. Congress seems to be in agreement for the most part.

» The Department of Defense (DoD) has worked hard on its Greasemonkey Script for Firefox users and may soon begin work on a GoogleDoc for viewing by non-Firefox users. Many in the DoD have concerns that many do not look at the DoD articles, but may look at a Google Document page instead. Debate on such a page's effectiveness is underway.

» Be sure to get ready for Party President elections! I have a feeling the Top 5 will have little turnover, and keep an eye on the 6th Parties as someone may try to sneak in that should not. Sure, citizenship rocks, but there are work arounds.

» Following orders is smart and for the most part it's good to wait until we are done fighting in our front lawns before questioning them. Thinking critically gives us strategic advantages - if you have any concerns or questions do not hesitate to private message me personally. For your convenience, my signature now has a link to PM me. If you use Firefox, use the DoD's Greasemonkey Script to be more informed!
