Prepare for a War
Shoi12
I'm sure you're all aware of my stance towards war. It stimulates the economy, gives a sense of purpose, and is simply fun, but at the same time, I don't like most wars because they're not advantageous towards us. *points at the googul wars between Canada and England* I always like thinking about each possibility before rushing to war. Call me a conservative, call me a coward, whatever, but as a mid-sized nation at best, we need to be careful and make sure we don't do anything stupid.
I'm sure many of you are thinking, "This Spain war is stupid. We can't beat them" or "Why should we help Portugal anyway" or "Durr hurr let's attack France instead ololol kthxbaivote5". And to that I say, a war on Spain is the best option for both us as a nation and our entire group of brothers. First off, Spain is in a vulnerable state right now. Like I've said many times before, having multiple fronts against an enemy works. It just does. Sure, you can argue that Spain isn't focusing on Colombia, which explains their losses in South America, but that only serves to further prove my point. They're not being nice guys and giving Colombia cookies for free, they're giving up those lands because they can't fight there. They can't afford to spread their forces any further, or else they lose their battle with Portugal. And what happens when we join the mix?
Spain will either do one of two things. They could choose to continue only fighting in Portugal, which means easy wins and tons of BH and TP gold for our citizens. Doesn't that sound nice? We get free stuff without even trying! Or perhaps they recognize us as a threat and send some of their soldiers up to defend against us. But if they choose to do so, we buy Portugal enough time to not only survive but wreak havoc on the Spanish landscape. And that sounds like a fun time as well!
Look, it's been a while since we've had a nice, coordinated, team-first effort in this nation of ours. Either we're off beating up Britain or we're getting curbstomped by Poland. But now's finally our chance to show that Canada isn't some bumbling buffoon, but a warrior that stands by its allies! So yes, let's work with Colombia and Portugal and show that even us mid-sized nations can hold our own against a blob like Spain!
Until next time, take care!

Spain is very vulnerable and uncoordinated now. Perfect timing.
Sounds like a great move now that you explain it that way. Thanks for providing the rationale.

Does this NE proposal come from the President and Executive? If so, the failure to discuss it in closed door congress is a bit surprising and could lead to defeat. If it is not a government initiative, only a single congressman making ad hoc war policy, it doesn't really reflect well on canada's war planning.
".....finally our chance to show that Canada isn't some bumbling buffoon...." ? let's hope so. Good luck if it passes.
oh so I guess this another unilateral proposal being imposed on eCanada by a select group of people that get their kicks ball-hogging the powerstruggle. Too bad, I was hoping we were getting somewhere together. Just another illegal proposal meant to prove a childish point.
"it's ridiculously easy to destroy a nation from the inside. Yet no one can deny that at times this game is ridiculously fun."
Wise words, Shoi. Still waiting for the fun. Let's all play together for once.
280k sitting in comptroller's hands for two weeks. Minister of Finance makes cochi do roster calculations. Minister of finance presents no budget. Vice president nudges Cochi to prepare a budget 'cause the executive has explicitly stated it has no interest in financial planning. No discussion about war plans, Minister of Information completely out of the loop, Minister of Foreign affairs has no input into an NE proposal and VP confirms it is done without any consultation. May turn out well.
You can ad😛 MUs don't make a peep about not getting their funding, presidential advisor Jacobi out of the loop, citizens of ecanada unconcerned. Money being spent on MPPs without any accountability, congress tinkering with income tax changes again, increase VAT on food but not weapons for no discernible reason, straw polls without any substantive discussion and, recently, plummeting citizenship numbers.
".....finally our chance to show that Canada isn't some bumbling buffoon...." ?
All in all, still not the worst eCanadian presidential term ever.
Getting close I suppose.
great!
I approve!
