Who will win the next Presidential Elections?

http://img694.imageshack.us/i/fieldlego.jpg/">http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/5607/fieldlego.jpg" border="0" />

Introduction:

This is an article which examines, in the form of a list [the form I seem to enjoy], the people who could one day be the President of the United States of America. Let us begin the epic journey through this jungle of words and pictures that I have put together in a [hopefully] comprehensive fashion.

Who is going to be president after current President Jewitt does not, presumably, seek to run for a third term? Election day is relatively far off; it's not until February 5th, but this allows me to really just go all out with my predictions [guessing].

Today, as everyday, I swirled around some tea leaves in a bowl, and then read their meaning. I dealt out some tarot cards [straight flush!]. I gazed up the stars before the sun rose to gather whether or not Mars is in Scorpio [and thank heavens it isn't! dodged a bullet on that one]. I called Larry Ellison at Oracle [the corporation] - he hung up on me. Folks, I am not a professional fortuneteller, but I can at least pretend to be one and that gives me far more credibility than anyone who consults "reason" or "science" or "logic". It is with these methods that I have found out who will be the next President of the United States [not really, but I have a great list of potential hopefuls].

*Warning: I have been informed that this article might contain moments of epicness, wise cracks, and a rhythmic flow which may induce ecstasy. It's long, too, as well as done in a painfully similar format as my previous article [but better!]. Oh, and it's probably really biased.*

The list [roughly in order from least likely to run / win to the most; the list also contains 5 "sub-lists" for extra confusion 😁]:

1. Perhaps Someday...

Sydiot

http://img690.imageshack.us/i/sydiot.jpg/">http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/4476/sydiot.jpg" border="0" />

Pros:
- 4 terms as congressman
- Aside from having one of the most under-rated newspapers on the ePlanet, he is very knowledgeable about domestic issues.
- This man is one of America's best businessmen. He knows money and finances.
- If elected he would complete the eHoly eTrinity of Jon Stewart [Gaius Julius], Stephen Colbert [Jewitt], and Steve Carell [himself].

Cons:
- Relatively unknown by the public at large [mostly newer players].
- Workers might worry that his support leans more towards business owners.

Summary:
His insightful business articles are a great tool for anyone looking to own a business or for someone who already does. He has moderate [cult-like] following which wishes he would publish more often [*clears throat*]. What he brings to the table is his economic knowledge as well as his service in congress. As a business minded Libertarian, a few people, particularly those in the USWP and the Green Party, might worry about certain government programs being taken away or see their funding diminish.

Odds of Winning:
"Who's that guy? Eww, I hate the Office. I am voting the guy with the cool avatar..." [Personal note: I like Steve Carell as his avatar.]

Aeros

http://img694.imageshack.us/i/aeros.jpg/">http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/6671/aeros.jpg" border="0" />

Pros:
- He knows war - really well.
- He has big fan base and some good ideas.
- Has a comprehensive knowledge of government.
- He would likely work very well with all the facets and "Big Players" within the U.S. government.

Cons:
- Only level 19, which is not very high compared to Harlot, Frost, and McFarland. [Does that even matter? You decide!]
- Has never set foot in congress.

Summary:
Aeros' newspaper was the first one I subscribed to. His Defense Intel Review is a very complete, relatively brief summarization of wars and battles around the globe and how they affect us and EDEN. He has almost 3,000 subscribers. He recently committed "heresy" by writing an article in favor of putting Q2 Hospitals in every state outside of the fortress states. It was in this article that he received several comments - many of which were in support of his proposal and in support of him seeking the highest office in the land.

Odds of Winning:
"Is he Egyptian or something? He uses big words. Whatever."

DanielCD

http://img23.imageshack.us/i/danielcd.jpg/">http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/3276/danielcd.jpg" border="0" />

Pros:
- 3 time congressman.
- Very active within the government.
- He believes in beating the crap out of someone who disses you [fo reel].

Cons:
- Has over 500 subscribers, but that's still not a lot compared to someone like Aeros, Scheisskopf or Desertfalcon.
- Not super well-known to the general public.

Summary:
Though he is fairly well know by those in the government, the common two-clicker might not even know DanielCD exists. He has been active in politics and within the Libertarian Party for quite some time now [he was party president not long ago]. He is certainly a rising figure in our country, and y'all best recognize. Check out his newspaper, through which he often provides his readers with the lulz.

Odds of Winning:
Spend a little longer on the political scene and then we'll talk 😃

Devan Kronos

http://img690.imageshack.us/i/devank.jpg/">http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/7611/devank.jpg" border="0" />

Pros:
- He knows stuff. A lot of stuff.
- He has well written articles and is very close to getting his first Media Mogul Medal.
- He is well versed within the workings of the Military.
- 3 time congressman from Montana.
- He's a Scorpio.

Cons:
- Almost nobody, who recently joined the game, knows who he is [but they will!].
- His newspaper is under-rated!
- He's a Scorpio...

Summary:
Never heard of him? You will. He is a former ambassador and congressman. Devan Kronos was also Chief of Staff under both presidents Josh Frost and Jewitt. Aside from being one of my favorite writers on here, he has scored interviews with high ranking players and made friends with some powerful people. He is now running for the congressional seat for Karnataka and has some heavy hitters supporting him. Keep an eye on this guy!

Odds of Winning:
For now - somewhat slim. In two months - it may be a different story 😁

Rainy Sunday

http://img5.imageshack.us/i/rainysunday.jpg/">http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/6505/rainysunday.jpg" border="0" />

Pros:
- Very active player and 2 time congresswoman.
- Prominent within the Congressional scene.
- Liked by both our friends and foes.

Cons:
- She publishes poetry / songs for newspaper articles and expects the common 2-clicker to understand their meaning [let alone read them].
- In Erepublik terms - she's kind of quiet.
- "She has thoughts and has participated in government! Witch!"

Summary:
Many players in the U.S. and abroad very much adore Rainy Sunday. She's sort of our living Statue of Liberty in the Game [but she doesn't have copper skin and a recently refurbished steel skeleton... at least we hope not]. What she brings to the table is a certain understated calm and critical wit which has no doubt aided in her growing popularity on the political scene. She also would be great in building and maintaining international relations.

Odds of Winning:
I couldn't tell if my tea leaves were pointing north or towards the sandwich I had placed on the table - which means I have no idea.

2. Getting Warmer...

Zcia

http://img5.imageshack.us/i/laughingdog.jpg/">http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/4274/laughingdog.jpg" border="0" />
*Note: I liked this picture more than his real avatar so I used it.*

Pros:
- 9 time congressman.
- Already very influential in the government.
- He knows all of the big shots.

Cons:
- Comparatively, no one reads his newspaper.
- Fairly unknown by newer players.

Summary:
I know very little about Zcia. He is certainly a government insider and has a great deal of influence; however, his articles make one wish that he would publish something other than election info for the USWP.

Odds of Winning:
If he gets a good campaign consultant, he might stand a chance.

Astra Kat G

http://img694.imageshack.us/i/buffyfirefly.jpg/">http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/1606/buffyfirefly.jpg" border="0" />

Pros:
- Has worked within government programs and has been thrice elected to congress.
- Has a decent following for her newspaper [and a decent newspaper!].
- Aside from being a former member of the Green Party - she seems reasonable.
- The public knows her [or at least that she exists].
- She's a she.

Cons:
- As former "Queen of California," wouldn't POTUS be a step backwards for her?
- She's a she.
- People who worship Dio, Emerick, and "the Gods" may not have as much influence... [Con? Idk.]

Summary:
If you play this game long enough, you will eventually run into Astra Kat G. She comments on various articles and is clearly a very active member of the U.S. Government. If she did run there certainly could be a bias against her having the female shape for her wellness indicator from many male players [though it could help her among the female players]. But AKG is not one who quickly backs down from a fight and she is quite likable and respectable - providing good solid reason to back up many of positions and arguments.

Odds of Getting Electe😛
If she panders a bit more to the demands of the n00bs, she might have a really good shot.

Jude Connors

http://img9.imageshack.us/i/judec.jpg/">http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/9800/judec.jpg" border="0" />

Pros:
- 3 time congressman.
- Has held many positions within the government, including the Secretary of the Interior.
- eAmerica's favorite Hippie.
- Very dedicated to his work.

Cons:
- Republicans are probably still angry at him for hijacking their old party and making into the American Independents Party [which was probably for the better].
- Not everyone likes Hippies - even eHippies.

Summary:
Jude Connors has run bureaucracies, and been the leader of parties. Now he seems to dedicate his time to fighting for our allies abroad and running various programs within the Department of the Interior [The U.S.A. Welcoming Committee, The Salvation Army, etc.]. He has had a respectable career [depending on who you ask, I suppose] behind him and very likely in front of him.

Odds of Winning:
We can work it out...

Lieutenant Scheisskopf

http://img694.imageshack.us/i/lscheiss.jpg/">http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/2294/lscheiss.jpg" border="0" />

Pros:
- Knows a great deal about the inner-workings of the Military and war itself.
- Well known for his in-depth articles.
- Makes it his business to know what is going all over the New World.

Cons:
- n00bs find his articles to be too long.
- Have you seen his name? That's a heck of a name to spell.
- Has not yet served as a congressman [that's not exactly a prerequisite for the presidency, but it does help].
- Why does Mr. Hyphenated call him "Lieutenant Poohead"?

Summary:
Scheisskopf has shown his intellect through the breadth, scope, and intuitiveness of his articles. He has almost 3,000 subscribers to his newspaper for a good reason.

Odds of Winning:
He stands a chance.

Publius

http://img704.imageshack.us/i/publius.jpg/">http://img704.imageshack.us/img704/9165/publius.jpg" border="0" />

Pros:
- 8 time congressman.
- Been around for, like, ever...
- Knows probably everybody in the U.S. government, and probably most everybody in the U.S. [even if you do not know him, mwa ha ha ha!].
- He's pretty much the man.

Cons:
- Currently a citizen of Uruguay.
- He might have some enemies...
- Does he want the job of POTUS?

Summary:
Publius has been fairly inactive from offering a public voice in U.S. political life recently. Of course, he might still be active on the IRC, which I can neither confirm or deny [darn tea leaves]. He is well connected and a major player in the EDEN alliance.

Odds of Winning:
If he wanted to, then he could, he might have to get some things in order... like citizenship...

3. The Heavy Hitters.

Woxan

http://img62.imageshack.us/i/woxan.jpg/">http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/1774/woxan.jpg" border="0" />

Pros:
- People know him.
- 3 time congressman from California.
- Has made one attempt for the position of POTUS already, so he knows what to expect on the campaign trail.
- Has served under multiple administrations.

Cons:
- He could stand to spice up his articles a little [though the recent stuff has been really good; the Benn Dover letters series is worth checking out]
- People think that he is spy.
- People think that he is Josh Frost's pet human.

Summary:
Already a tested veteran of seeking the highest elected office, Woxan has shown the people that he has the clout and the endorsements to become president - if only the national goals would cooperate. He faced some weird allegations during the campaign. The British called him a spy; the Hungarian, Zoli, said that he was essentially Josh Frost's puppet. He is very likely neither of these, but it didn't help that there were far less accusations being hurled at Jewitt - other than those associated with the Hielongjiang debacle.

Odds of Winning:
His midichlorians are off the scale.

Ligtreb

http://img707.imageshack.us/i/ligtreb.jpg/">http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/7741/ligtreb.jpg" border="0" />

Pros:
- He's an old pro.
- He has operated multiple government programs.
- 10 time congressman
- Ran alongside Woxan as his Vice President.
- People in foreign countries believe him to be quite awesome, too.

Cons:
- His publishing of papers has become somewhat sparse possibly due to his many commitments.
- What skeletons are lurking in his Community Chest? Hmmm?

Summary:
If this were the game of Monopoly Ligtreb would have all four railroads, Boardwalk, and Park Place. He's been in congress probably longer than anyone, and yet he rode shotgun in Woxan's campaign instead of opting for the lead. Ligtreb, with his hard to say name, has made quite the name for himself - and there's no telling how many top hats he wears which no doubt keep him busy. He is a fixture in the U.S. political scene and a high ranking member within the U.S.A. Homeguard. Will he run for president and reap the benefits of Free Parking or will he have to worry about that Luxury tax? [What? No Go To Jail reference?]

Odds of Winning:
Roll the dice to find out 🙂

Max McFarland 2

http://img19.imageshack.us/i/maxmcfarland2.jpg/">http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/944/maxmcfarland2.jpg" border="0" />

Pros:
- Max is well known by the public.
- Has spent 2 terms in congress.
- Is very much part of the Military Establishment.
- He already owns the government [haha j/k... or am I...]
- Known for his notable independence.
- He says all the right things, at exactly the right time...

Cons:
- Known for his notable independence - he will not be some easy pawn controlled by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff [like some others].
- He could literally be a dictator - the people love him so much they might be okay with that.
- Where is his mind? [this one is really just for the Pixies reference]

Summary:
Max McFarland is incredibly active. He and his fellow volunteers built the Q5 defense system in Karnataka as well as the Q5 hospital - and they did it for almost no money. The player who President Jewitt described in the following manner: "He's essentially Jesus." The only person that might stand a chance against him in an election would be Harlot and that would be a crazy election which could cause a huge civil war which only one of them will eSurvive! [*teary eyed* Reminds me of Caesar and Pompey].

Odds of winning:
Like a monkey ready to be shot into space! Space monkey!

Eugene Harlot

http://img130.imageshack.us/i/eugeneharlot.jpg/">http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/3574/eugeneharlot.jpg" border="0" />

Pros:
- He has vast support from those in the military and from within the government.
- Has a good knowledge of the inner-workings of government.
- He very much appeals to the newer players.
- Seen as hero by many. One could say that in an effort by the public to fill the void left by Emerick they grabbed for another and Harlot has become that idol.
- If he runs for pres., then Zoli of Hungary will run, and GLaDOS will run in the U.K. making for an insane, unstable trifecta which will cause all out warfare and awesomeness.
- I hear he can into space.

Cons:
- He has no newspaper [at least, not one for his citizen profile].
- Newer players may hear about him second hand, and may not know what he has done.
- He said he doesn't want to run 🙁
- His last name is Harlot. His first name is Eugene. [But danger is his middle name!] Not really sure if these are "cons."

Summary:
Chuck Norris references aside, he is a strong player and beloved by members of the Military. Harlot has filled the void that Emerick apparently left when he went missing; an epic player for the masses to idolize. However, many wonder, if he is so epic, how come I know so little about him? He no longer has a news paper for his citizen profile but communicates to the public at large through proxy newspapers - through his organizations and even through friends' organizations. Harlot is also very active in Military affairs and tactical advising which means he is constantly at work to improve the condition of the U.S. and the EDEN Alliance. It is often said that Eugene Harlot does not sleep - he waits...

Odds of winning:
It would be a landslide election in his favor - except perhaps against McFarland.

4. Wishful Thinking:

Josh Frost

http://img251.imageshack.us/i/ninjacatr.jpg/">http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/9945/ninjacatr.jpg" border="0" />

Pros:
- 3 time congressman from Florida
- Has already been President once
- Has held several positions within government and served under many presidents.
- Knows warfare, diplomacy, and how to run a government.
- His avatar and newspaper articles range from adorable to lion-esque.

Cons:
- Not everyone loves cats.
- Some think he's a whiny kitten.
- Does he want to be president again?

Summary:
I voted for Josh Frost each time he ran for POTUS. Unfortunately, there was some sort of glitch which made his [kind of pointless] national goals go away - so on election day the two clickers saw a guy with national goals and a guy without. Guess who they picked? So ever since then Josh Frost has no longer been sitting at the ePresidential Desk but has remained an actively player in politics and in government.

Odds of Winning:
He can haz national goalz now?

Gaius Julius

http://img96.imageshack.us/i/gaiusjulius2.jpg/">http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/7017/gaiusjulius2.jpg" border="0" />

Pros:
- Like Frost, he has already been President.
- 2 time congressman.
- He is the man in charge of the Military.

Cons:
- Doesn't publish articles enough. [We want to hear from you!]
- Like McFarland, and as his name implies [Caesar!], he could be a dictator.
- He might just be happy with being CJCS, and may be fine with being in that position for the immediate future.

Summary:
If you go digging through my ancient and hastily written articles [written for the sake of writing] you will find that I was early fan of Mr. Julius. I still am. As Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Supreme Allied Commander he has overseen the Asian campaign - and basically made it happen. He has shown himself to be a competent organizer and shrewd politician [though I am sure he would prefer to be known as the former]. Whether he runs or not, as long as he stays in the game, he will be a powerful figure in times to come.

Odds of Winning:
All he has to do is say the word.

5. The Author's choice.

Desertfalcon

http://img130.imageshack.us/i/desertfalcon.jpg/">http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/1782/desertfalcon.jpg" border="0" />

Pros:
- 8 time congressman.
- He has over 4,500 subscribers to his newspaper.
- Deeply involved in military affairs.
- He has a bitchin' name.
- He has a certain Gaius Julius quality about him...

Cons:
- Only recently joined the Federalist Party
- Much like Ligtreb, having been around for so long, what skeletons are hidden in his eCloset?
- Seems quiet. Too quiet...

Summary:
Desertfalcon has been around for ages in terms of Erepublik. There is no doubt that he operates in the highest levels of the government, and, for him, being POTUS might be less of a big deal than it would be for some others [but he gets a shiny medal!]. He may be the most experienced candidate out of anyone on this list.

Odds of Winning:
Pretty good, I think!

Analysis [the fun part!]:

Alrighty then, that's my list. It's huge. You might want to go back and take it all in again. Where to even begin with the analysis... tarot cards aren't helping at all at this point .

It is blatantly obvious that McFarland and Eugene Harlot are the public favorites at the moment. McFarland and Harlot would be my picks for those who are likely to run, though I have had visions [read articles] which cast doubts on if either of them want to do so. Ligtreb is also someone to keep an eye on, he could end up the favorite for the next president. But truly it may be far too early in Erepublik terms to begin to give an accurate guess as to who will run.

Some notables are certainly missing from the list. Rhane, the president of the Emerick Search Party, and Jewitt are missing. It is tradition, but not law, that the presidents of the U.S. step down after two terms [there are some old exceptions to this], and thus Jewitt is expected not to run. As far as Rhane goes, I am unsure. The Party President of the Emerick Search Party could likely get a spot on this list, however, the public knows very little about this player. The Emerick Search Party, which Rhane says will likely soon be renamed, is an up and coming party with some high ranking players. These high ranking players essentially are trying to keep the "principles" and "wisdom" of former president Emerick alive in the esoteric cabal of a party in which n00bs will only hear secondhand about the man the party was founded for. With this concentration of upper level players I worry that it could also increase the gap of communication between the newer players and upper level players - or the Party may get sorted out and change completely for the better.

As for others who were left out, this list could have easily been twice as long as it is already. The likes of Joe Newton, Bekarius, Max Johnson, et alii, could have easily had a place on this list, but I decided that I needed to condense the list to truly the most likely and experienced - though those guys are great, too. However, many names were left off or scrapped to truly encompass a picture of the people who will either in February or in the coming few months chose to run for the presidency.

Something else to note, I did not list the candidates party affiliation, and though I mentioned a few - I feel that their party is for the most part is almost negligible. Not to say parties are not important, but when one attains such a high level of influence and government the idea of what party one belongs to almost dissolves; that is to say, it's importance dwindles.

Finally, an obviously very critical aspect of someone's political potential is the newspaper. Newspapers in Erepublik are the citizens' main media in the New World and taking advantage of that as a politician is crucial. President Jewitt may have one of the best "voices" I have seen from any politician. His writing is near impeccable, and the flow is like that of a professional preacher which builds and builds until finally reaching a euphoric populist climax - and then the reader realizes, "my frontal lobe just shut off, this guy is good!" The point is that newspapers are the most effective tool for garnering votes and maintaining a voice within the New World. Even after Jewitt leaves the eWhite House his opinion and voice will be heard if he continues to publish articles.

I would encourage any people who comment on this to tell me who they would like to run for president, or if someone should have been on this list that was not included.
