Hello citizens of the eWorld. I apologize for not posting a new article last week. With the hackings I did not want to risk publishing and with images disabled it made my article style useless.

I also apologize this week because this article will look different than usual. The hackings have made it difficult for me to make this article this week because I have not been able to get the latest citizen feed. Along with thousands of bots made over the last few days I have decided to skip the active citizens part of the article based purely on the fact I have no idea how many active citizens there are and any estimates I would make would be very far out. For this reason there is no identified Winner or Loser this week because it is hard to figure out who is a winner with all of the bots/hacks. 🙁

Once again I am so sorry for this. You have to understand that this is not my fault and I will try to get back on schedule with my regular article next week when hopefully the API is actually working. 🙁

Summary of the week
Since I did not do an article this week I will cover the news over the last two weeks.

I guess the first thing I should talk about is the hackings. Last week just after the presidential elections a number of security breaches were found. Unfortunately these were exploited in many ways. One of the more noticeable hacks was when the UK, Serbian, Hungarian, German and Peruvian CPs were hacked (if I’ve missed anyone please tell me in the coments) and this lead to many unwanted results including a lot of wars that triggered MPPs, opened wars, destroyed MPPs, reduced countries to a single region and much more.

These hackings have caused outrage with it looking extremely biased as it only affected Phoenix. Some EDEN players have stated that Phoenix have cheated in the past but my opininon is that this was more extreme than any previous “cheat” as it affected the CP and was so blatent that it had to be reversed.

The effects of the hackings have now been reversed and the accounts of the Polish and Romanian CPs are now being investigated for taking advantage of the situation. The hackers also targeted citizen account by using scripts in articles. These scripts made people shout automatically and donate all gold to an account that funded illegal Resistance wars.

If you have been affected by the hackings and still haven’t got your account or gold back then I would suggest contacting the admins. They have stated in this article what you have to do to get your stuff back.

I would also suggest using “No Script” firefox addon if you use Firefox. I am unsure if it’s available in any other internet browsers but it stops scripts running on pages. You do have to set it all up which can be a pain (you have to allow the legal scripts running on every site you visit) but it effectively can stop you from getting affected by the scripts that we saw from the hackers. The hacker’s script was actually an IP address so it was obvious it was dodgy. I know that the hacks have stopped but if you want to be extra safe then download the addon by searching for it. :3

Back to the roundup. Hungary managed to take the High Iron region; Poldoia from Romania with the help of MPPs. High iron is arguably the most important resource in the game as it gives the country that holds it more materials to make Tanks and Rifles. This can also be seen as a big victory for Phoenix as they now have another high iron stronghold a few months after Hungary lost their original high iron fortress Hello Kitty. As Hungary have MPPs against Poland and Romania it looks unlikely that they will lose the region anytime soon.

North Korea started land swapping with China in order to get Poland a bridge to Liaoning; a Serbian high iron region. This is one of the biggest targets for EDEN and if Serbia lose it then Phoenix would be severely weakened. The current swapping has been stalled but expect it to pick up soon as I can imagine they will hit it asap.

Canada managed to successfully take some regions off of the UK and head towards the high oil region of Vestlandet. As the region was hit at 4am this meant that it ended at 4am the next day. Throughout the day the eUK held onto most of the region with ease because of its MPPs. However, during the night whilst the UK and its allies were asleep Canada/USA were in their prime time and outnumbered the defenders on the battlefield and managed to take the region. No one knows how long they will hold the region as a Resistance war has been started already. The eUK have MPPs activated against Canada and Norway so it looks as if it will be easy enough for them to retake Vestlandet.

I need to also talk about my “Doomsday theory”. I predicted that on the 11th August we would see a massive drop in citizens. When I last counted 156,000 citizens were on course to die. As many of you have seen this has not happened yet. I decided to investigate as I was pretty sure that I had got the formula for starvation health decrease correct. Yesterday the people who have not played since the start of V2 were on 7 health. Today they are on 6 health. So according to this the new date for our “Doomsday” is in 6 days time so the 21st August. I don’t know whether the starvation health decrease formula has changed or bugged but it seems as if the admins were sneaky. Only time will tell if these dead citizens are removed from the citizen count.

One final thing to talk about which you’ll all know about is the multiple accounts that have been popping up over the last few days. These are designed to rob the country accounts of numerous countries. This week we have seen the eUK, Argentina, Japan and many more countries be affected. Most of the bots have now been deleted as far as I am aware but you can go and look at Argentina now who have (at the time or writing) 6000 new citizens today under the name “0101010101010”. Yesterday they had 8000 new citizens. Hopefully the multis can be stopped as they are ruining the economic module which isn’t fun for any country. 🙁

Other Notes

- Lots of Multis and you can see them from the table. Argentina went up by over 9000 citizens.
- Bolivia were wiped off of the map
- France gained 2000 citizens; but this looks like a Polish PTO attempt. 🙁
- Japan have 3000 new citizens. I’ve been told it was much more but they were created when Poland held a Japanese region. Odd…
- The Doomsday should take place on the 21st August now after I recalculated. The health decrease has obviously changed somewhere along the line. No idea if it’s a bug or not.
