- Bangkok - TNT party leader Antonio Salgado no longer appears to have an easy path to the January 2008 presidency as his past involvements with embezzlement and abuses are being dug up, while the respected Guy Kilmore decides to join in the race with strong supports from a number of veteran citizens.

As in the two previous months, the TNT leader is again pitted against a candidate from the alliance of several other parties that was initially formed to fight against Antonio's predecessor, the notorious self-proclaimed emperor Rockman 9.

Sabai Unity Party (SUP) leader Guy Kilmore has already gained the endorsement of Thailand Reform Party (TRP), while Korbin King's Thailand Defense Party (TDP) has not made an official candidate endorsement but it is likely to side with the decision of its allies as well.

Initially hesitating to respond to the request of his colleagues to run for the presidency, Guy Kilmore has decided to formally announce his bid for the election as well as revealing his policy which includes the plan to "reduce the opportunity for corruption, it makes transparency easier."

He praised the current wellness director Nouveauk and the recruitment director Antonio and would not make any drastic changes to the programs nor remove the two directors unwillingly. However, he maintains that eThailand may no longer be able to hold a diplomatic neutrality due to the conflict of ATLANTIS and PEACE, and should attempt to join PEACE.

Guy agrees with the proposed central bank idea and emphasizes the importance of citizen recruitment.

"The key to our economic success is recruitment. As more people come, wages will decreases, prices will decrease and the baht will strengthen," said the SUP leader.

Other than Guy's strong profile and supports, Antonio may have another issue to worry as his past involvements with the grafts, abuses, and nepotism under the leadership of Rockman are being dug up by various older citizens who are unlikely to allow themselves to forget the pains suffered in the "time of the Emperor".

"Antonio Salgado was accessory to embezzlement, among other charges and as such, reformed or not, should never be allowed access to our highest office. Like many of you I too applaud the work that Antonio has done in the recent months, however with a history like his, his intentions should always be considered with suspicion," said Vactor who wrote the article "Antonio Salgado: A Risk Too Far..."

Such sentiment is strongly echoed by the some members of the alliance like Ealb, Jack Roberts, and Wooty.

"I personally will vote for Antonio about as much as I would vote for zombie Richard Nixon. Once you've been our most corrupt (and now banned) president's right hand man, defended him for more than a month against any criticism, received stolen money from our nation's treasury and refused to donate it to a holding account and even asked why you only got 10,000 baht, compared our articles about how corrupt our country was to the squeaking of mice, and then went back and deleted all those comments so you wouldn't look bad, lied about your comments, later were exposed and forced to admit that "most" of that is true," said TRP member Wooty.

But the criticisms is quickly countered by Antonio himself and other TNT figures like Lorenzo Lopes Riviera.

"Antonio has showed enough about how he changed and how much he's fighting for our country.
If you can't see it, I'm sorry but you need glasses or someone who explain the things to you," said Lorenzo.

Despite the heated debate, Antonio may have a better chance of acceptance comparing to the earlier election as some of the individuals belonging to the alliance, such as Guy Kilmore or Mew Tong, seems to have become more appreciative of his efforts to redeem himself.

"In my opinion its what someone wants to do in the present and future that more important than a mistake in the past. And by the way he was also one of the few people who gave back all the money he received. I can see how some people are skeptic about him, but I'm sure he sincerely wants to create change and help out Thailand," said Jesse, who is now a Nobelis member.
