- Bangkok - Sabai Unity Party leader Guy Kilmore has become the new eThailand president succeeding TDP leader Korbin King with 83.19% of the votes, defeating his only opponent ViusSolaris.

Guy’s landslide victory with 99 votes is no surprise as his real rival Antonio Salgado of the TNT dropped out a day earlier, while the TNT party decided to endorse Guy in absence of its own candidate. But the 20 votes gained by the unknown ViusSolaris have raised suspicions of some.

“He only has nine members in his party and has received 20 votes. Impressive for someone who has never written an article,” said congressman Karlito.

“I am wondering if this might be a half-hearted attempt by a foreign country to experiment with political takeover. Thailand is getting larger nowadays, but if a country much larger does decide to put a man in power, they can still muster up enough moving tickets and active people to sway the votes,” wrote wellness director Nouveauk in his article “Unfounded Worries?”

But the other citizens have pointed out such takeover is unlikely and practically meaningless without compromising the congress first. There are some other remaining possibilities, but none seems strong enough for the 20 votes of the leader of a party that comprises of nine members, half of whom are inactive.

“I'm perplexed as well. I expect some of that to be protest votes, and some contrarians, but it's not clear by any stretch, and it's worrisome in any case,” said TRP leader Ealb.

Perhaps no current theory can offer a satisfactory explanation as some truths are not yet revealed.

The eThailand January 2009 presidential election will probably remain as “an election of unanswered questions”, as termed by Sander Cohen.
