- Bangkok - The eThai presidential race takes an unexpected twist as Antonio Salgado decides to leave the country for eBrazil just hours from the upcoming election on January 5, leaving rival Guy Kilmore's bid unopposed.

Although Sabai Unity Party leader Guy is a respected economist and veteran politician, Antonio was, up until his decision to move away and drop from the race, widely expected to win the election due to his massive manpower of the TNT Party as well as his dedicated efforts to redeem himself from the earlier tainted history of the party.

The former TNT leader has left the eThai congress for eBrazil "to stay there a little" and has joined the Partido Nacionalista party in that country. Lorenzo Lopes Riviera, a former TNT member, and Gfame and Pholand, former members of the Nobelis party, have also left the eThai congress to follow Antonio to the North Region of eBrazil.

"Even with all this preparation all my plans were kind of incomplete. So i´ve made one decision eThailand, today i am leaving the country, but i will be back one day, more mature and with answers to my doubts, also better solutions to your problems," said Antonio.

His cited the unpreparedness as the reason for the unexpected withdrawal at the last minute, which correlates with the ongoing policy debate that has become more favorable to Guy and less to Antonio.

"In terms of policy, Antonio comes up short. He frankly admits his plan is to largely keep the current administrative structure, but fails to really explain how he intends to integrate the changes he does anticipate into this. Indeed, his platform in general lacks any real overarching plan," said TRP leader Ealb, who has been encouraging voters to consider policies rather than personal histories of the candidates.

Guy will likely win the presidential election of January 2009 as the other remaining candidate, the mysterious ViusSolaris of the Democratic People's Republic, has not yet stated his policy and remains an obscure figure to the eThai public.

The TNT party is now led by Eiji, a Portuguese-speaking former congressman. According to Antonio, Eiji will only act as a caretaker party leader and will pass the position to John Hancock in the next party election.
