Political Activity: Who is active?

Dear readers,

There has been some discontent regarding the continuous terms of 'the same government'. People want to see different people leading our country, different view points and more political discussions between the government and the opposition. You know what? I agree with them!

I've sent out a short interview to seven players I deem active in order to find out who is active in politics. The purpose is to establish a list of player who can be approached by CP candidates in order to assemble their government team(s).

Since there are only 4-8 active newspapers in the Netherlands most of which as government newspapers I believe we need to find a way to find out who is interested in politics. For this reason I suggest the following initiative. I'd like to see every CP write an article with regards to next terms government. I'd like to see this article up the first day of each new month. Why the current CP and not one of the presidential candidates? Well honestly I don't know, but it just sounds right that a CP makes sure that his successor has all the information needed to create a balanced and hard working government.

Once I've sent the interview to players within our community only three players replied to my questions.



Here are the results.

1. Can you name 7 active politicians?
Weekstrom: "7 active politicians? I wouldn't have a clue. I could make some guesses like you(Shawtyl0w), Andreas Isaksson, NoTie112, Trannsvaal, Revvenge, Hendri XI, Gwom, no doubt odan in his way but that's about it. But sure some others will pop to mind if I think longer. But I'm far from knowing who call the political shots atm."

Legendardisch: "Shawtyl0w, odan, Legendardisch, Henri XI, NoTie112, Revvenge, Auggustus."

odan: "I don't think I can name 7. Shawtyl0w, jordic69, NoTie112, odan, perhaps Gwom. but that's about it. Most of the others I either don't consider active enough or haven't been active enough."

2. Do you have the feeling that you know who are willing to join the eNL government if someone asked them?
Weekstrom: "Who are willing will depend on the kind of gov as depending on that different people will stand up. Say divided between people wanting to keep it as it is, people who want to transform matters and players that are there just because someone has to do it."

Legendardisch: "No, Henri XI maybe."

odan: " I think I know most that would join a gov yes. Although many aren't that active anymore so the pool is very light."

3. Would you say a cc reward for joining the government "and be active" would be a good incentive?
Weekstrom: "cc aint the right way. People doing it for the money aren't the kind we need."

Legendardisch: "No."

odan: "No."

4. Would you join the government when asked at this moment(by any player)?
Weekstrom: "I considered running for congress if plans were in place to change matters that simple needed CM to be active in voting to get it done. Not to be active myself in developing matters. I lack the time and also the opportunity nowadays as game and forum are blocked at work."

Legendardisch: "Yes."

odan: Yes although that would depend on the position. I doubt I'd be a great MoD or MoFA."




Well then there you have it, the three players who did answer my questions Weekstrom Legendardisch and odan, I thank you for your time and effort. What have we learned? Well for one, most of the active politicians in this country have been mentioned in question one. Do you see a pattern? Hint: Most of them are either part of the government OR are active on forum as CoC/dCoC.



Allow me to draw some conclusions, these aren't based on scientific research, they aren't truth but they are my conclusions.

1) Even active players don't know who is active in politics and who isn't. They know the players who form the government and they know the players in their political party but that's it.
2) The government remains the same as long as these other active politicians don't aim a spotlight at their face communicating they are still out there.
3) Other politicians aren't interested enough to approach CP candidates and are awaiting an invite which they won't receive if the CP candidate doesn't know they are active!!
