Poland Faces 12 Resistance Wars, Days 823-824

Day 824, 11:38 Published in USA USA by Lieutenant Scheisskopf

The quiet situation in the New World following the peace agreement reached between EDEN and the eUK seems to have been broken right before server reset on Day 823, as 12 resistance wars (RW) erupted across ePoland’s European possessions. This is not the first time that the New World-- or ePoland, for that matter-- has encountered such a wide-scale and well-coordinated RW campaign, as the same thing happened one month earlier.

The targeted RW regions (circled) suggest liberation of eFrance
before Congressional elections to be Phoenix's main objective

Overview
Just before server reset on Day 823, 12 regions were targeted by Phoenix elites in Provence Alps Azur, Paris Isle of France, Champagne Ardennes, Thuringia, Baden-Wurttemberg, Poitou Charentes, Midi-Pyrenees, Alsace, Lorraine, Franche-comte, Hesse, and Extremadura (Extremadura occurred just after server reset, early in Day 824). The attacks before server reset prevented ePoland and EDEN allies to get their fights in these fronts for Day 823, allowing Phoenix’s advanced coordination to give their side two chances to fight in the RWs, a common tactic employed by attacking parties. By the close of battle late in Day 824, Phoenix accomplished their main objective; although they won only 1 of the 12 RWs, mentioned above (Franche-comte), they also won a closely-fought RW started earlier on Day 823 in Auvergne, which returns eFrance to the map.

What Could Happen
Just like the 13 RWs from a month ago, Phoenix made a successful bid to return a conquered country to the map ahead of Congressional elections, as eight of the 12 regions targeted in this uprising are naturally part of eFrance (last month's attack targeted liberating eGermany). To liberate any of these 8 regions would enable eFrance to hold Congressional elections, and Phoenix's success in freeing two regions means eFrance will have a French Congress for March; the alternative, if these RWs were secured by ePoland, would enable automatic requests of eFrench citizenship for the coming month. eFrance does not face the fate of becoming a 'new eBelgium' and a political revolving door where Phoenix and EDEN could jockey for position and political leverage in a new country.

ePoland has long wanted to cross into South America and take the
high iron and wood, and medium grain and diamonds, in North of Brazil

Also interesting was Phoenix’s targeting of Extremadura, a naturally eSpanish region which is close to the regions necessary for ePoland to approach South America and take the resource-rich region of North of Brazil from the eBrazilians. ePoland predictably fought for the region for strategic reasons, and it may have helped Phoenix with their victories in eFrance by keeping ePoland busy with strategic targets.

As with the previous month’s massive RW campaign, Phoenix had the luxury of monitoring each RW’s progress and can adjust targeting priorities to win any of these in the final minutes. With their militaries online and deployed to ePoland, Phoenix was able to make a spirited last-minute bid to retake the two successful regions, catching EDEN's militaries off guard and unable to defend all fronts..

Final Take

A proposed subtitle and logo for Phoenix’s RW group,
if they keep using the mass RW strategy in the future 🙂

While ePoland has a massive population and stifled most of the 12 RWs, Phoenix only needed one success in eFrance to assure the country has Congressional elections on the 25th. Phoenix's success in eFrance compound the challenges for ePoland, as a revitalized eFrance would not have active wars opened with any EDEN power, giving eFrance time to build infrastructure and limiting the time window for EDEN (either ePoland or eSpain) to declare war and successfully retake the region or regions which emerge.

ePoland can claim success in having not lost any of the three RWs opened in eGerman regions. If two of these were successful, eGermany could have increased its Congressional representation and make the country more viable than it has for the past month. Finally, ePoland’s possible loss of Extremadura would have forced ePoland to make a fairly expensive swap back through eSpain in anticipation of someday entering South America.

The challenges staged by this RW campaign were well-selected by Phoenix, and is another example of impressive coordination and strategic insight on their part. ePoland’s position in Europe, and that of EDEN, could be significantly altered in the next half-day if any or too many of these RWs fell to the forces contending with the ePolish military.

God Bless America,
