Plus Ultra [English Version]

"Plus Ultra" for those who do not know, this Latin phrase, meaning "beyond" is the motto of our country. It is reflected on the national emblem and has marked much of our history.





Beyond the known maps we dared to venture to discover a new world and challenge the status quo.

Beyond the Sea we established colonies, a source of power and wealth for centuries.

Beyond skin we learned to look, uniting with those who stood in our way instead of barging through.

Beyond the mountains our armies marched, slow but unstoppable.





But things change, we wallowed in our glory and stopped looking beyond.

We didn´t look beyond our quarrels, beyond our corruption or vulgar ways, beyond gold that deceived us to think it would never run out even with all the thieving and futile spending, beyond our different religions and cultures. We didn't know how to look beyond our borders while our badly paid and supplied soldiers died in wars that were of no importance to us.
We were left alone, all spaniards were alone… and we fell.


Well, after this small introduction I pretend to make you see that we are headed towards the same predicament here in eR. That stagnation is killing us. We are not looking beyond.


We can’t see beyond our bonuses.

We can’t see beyond our own personal quarrels.

We can’t see beyond ourselves, to such point that we can’t even see ourselves anymore.


Let me tell you a big truth. eSpain is in a critical situation, in a very bad situation.
We have more than decent damage, and our low divisions even though they can’t compete with the power of eChile, eArgentina or are not on the same level as those of ePortugal, are above average and getting better every day. But even having though we have the damage, we lack the organization that most countries have, we are at a very low level compared to other countries in that sense. The main cause of this being that nobody wants to work nor contribute for the common good, some people feel joy when they see that a new face is willing to put in some work for the government and change things, contrary to what many believe. It is very sad to see a country with a large population and for there to only be one serious postulation to CP. It was also sad to see how our relationship with portugal was crushed when we almost achieved peace, and for what? What did we obtain from this?

Our international weight is of today a very low one. Lately there seems to be no country that we can’t find buts about, some seem to hate all those who aren’t of eSpain, others even hate eSpain.

I for one, thought that we didn’t bring RL hate into the game, that we were open and knew how to see friends beyond our own frontier, but are we? Or are we so stingy and irreconcilable as eSerbia?

It’s sad but as of today we have very few true allies, nobody cares to listen to us. Only our inseparable ePoland values our opinion and maeby eUK. It’s in our own hands to change this. We have the strength and the capacity, I know we do.

It’s time for a change, it’s time for new alliances, time to demonstrate our allies that we can be there for them and we are going to be there when they are most in need. It is time to look beyond.





It is time to see beyond our hatred and quarrels.

It is time to see beyond our bonuses.

It is time to see beyond our borders.

It is time to show what we are worth.

Don’t be afraid of boredom or lack of wars. All you have to do is look at our position in the globe and know that war (like winter) is coming. But when it comes will we be alone and defenseless or will we be united and ready?

The bonuses will also come, if we do things right it’s only a matter of time.

We must all remember that battles are won by the soldiers, the COs, the tanks and everything else are only incentive. But who wants to fight for us nowadays?

I am willing to fight for us. It being away from our mainland, in an IRC chat or filling out a gdoc. I am willing to forget old quarrels that I may have with other players for the good of eSpain.

We must go back to seeing beyond if we want to be what we were and be respected again.





But the first condition to looking beyond, is wanting to do so.
