Phoenix rejects ultimatum to leave China, EDEN Invades Asia

SUMMARY

Today, the President of Hungary rejected the Japanese governments demand to withdraw from Chinese territory. The motion was made on behalf of the entire Phoenix Alliance. In Bulgaria, Phoenix retreated all regions under attack except for the Bulgarian capital of Sofia, opening the Turkish border up to Romania. Seizing the opportunity, EDEN has implemented the second phase of its Asian effort, an invasion of Turkey, backed by the full battery of the EDEN Alliance thanks to Turkey’s incessant invasions of Greek home territory. The UK and Slovenia have subsequently launched their usual distraction battles to trip up the latest EDEN effort.


EDEN INVADES ASIA

It has begun, or did it already begin with Kyushu? EDEN has launched its long awaited offensive against the former PEACE nations (now Phoenix) after being more or less on the defensive since the French invasion of Canada back in July. The EDEN objective by now is obvious. The targets are the Iranian, Indonesian, and Hungarian occupation zones in India and China, with Greece and Romania gunning to get into the Asian theater the hard way; straight through Turkey and Iran.

This reveals the true reason for the Bulgarian war. Romania was aiming for the Turkish border, and thanks to the Phoenix retreat, they gained that border. Romania has now proposed its war declaration, and while it is going to come through after the Battle of Sophia ends, Romania should be able to get an attack in on Marmara if they retreat the Bulgarian regions under attack by Serbia and Bulgaria. That is of course, if Romania loses the Battle of Sophia. If Romania wins in Sophia, then Phoenix will lose the Bulgarian MPP’s that may come in handy if Romania is able to go on the offensive inside Turkey. Either way, Phoenix is in a serious bind. The Alliance has spent a lot of damage already fighting in Bulgaria and this cannot bode well for Turkey who is now facing the full battery of the EDEN Alliance through the Greek MPP that they have been activating for the last several months while running distraction battles during critical fights like Second California and NW Croatia. It was inevitable this service to Indonesia and Hungary would come back to haunt Turkey, and today is that day.

As for the EDEN intentions on Turkey, it should be fairly obvious. Greece intends to erase Turkey from the map, which will close the activated MPP’s and permit an unmolested invasion of Iran. This will prove to be a much harder task then wiping Turkey, but EDEN may have an ace in the hole. Phoenix rejected the Japanese demand they abandon occupied Chinese territory (with the exception of Heilongjiang). Iran apparently was not willing to give up its precious foreign territory. Should Japan open the Kyushu gates, the United States will enter Asia for the first time and begin to launch its own attacks on Iran, Russia, Indonesia and Hungary. If for whatever reason Japan were to back down from its demands, it is highly likely the US will just attack Kyushu again anyhow, or perhaps even Eastern Siberia. Today's actions show that EDEN has lost its respect for the core Phoenix MPP’s, and with Greece sticking its neck out, the USA is bound to do the same. Once the US enters Asia, the assault will draw off critical Phoenix damage from the Turkish and Iranian defensive lines, and could allow Greece and Romania to reach the Indian border. From there, it’s on to Karnataka, one of the three crown jewels of Phoenixes Asian Empire.

It is in India where things get better for EDEN and worse for Phoenix. After repeated refusals by Iran to give up needed High Grain regions, and the current PTO effort by the Iranian Mafia organization, India decided to declare war. They now have Iran initiative blocked, which will prevent Iran from blocking for Turkey. Greece has all the time in the world to play with the Turks now, and if Romania can get inside, they can cycle the attacks and insure Turkey cannot get an offensive going. Unlike the United States, Turkey does not have a mighty fortress to fall back on in the event of an overwhelming invasion. Once Turkey is wiped, Iran will be powerless to capitalize on any victories they may make on their home territory against a potential Greek or Romanian invasion thanks to the Indian blocks. This problem will become even more compounded once the United States enters the conflict zone in support of China. The US possesses an open war with China via their MPP with Japan. This will allow the USA to region swap around the Asian map through China, choosing targets at will. It will also put immediate pressure on Heilongjiang and Liaoning, the other two crown jewels of Phoenixes Asian Empire.


FINAL ANALYSIS

This is the moment a lot of people in the EDEN camp have been waiting for, ever since the day Spain, Switzerland, Canada, and North Korea were wiped out by the countries that now make up Phoenix. Should EDEN prevail in its Asian Campaign, its enemies will be mortally crippled. It would also mark one of the most decisive victories for a group of nations since World War 2, which saw Hungary and Indonesia emerge as the world’s leading powers. The lynch pin for Phoenix will be to try and keep Greece from reaching India, and at the same time hold the Americans and Chinese at bay in East Asia. This is a task that may prove very difficult, with the results of defeat being catastrophic for Hungary’s economy. We have to remember, Hungary wanted Canada wiped out so they could get to Heilongjiang. If Hungary loses their precious High Iron region, it’s pretty much gone forever, as the land bridges they had built across Asia and North America during the height of their power have long since been erased by diplomacy and EDEN military action.
