Pfft, Peace is SOOO Overated! (Not Really) Post Can-Am War

Day 1,719, 01:06 Published in Canada Canada by Shoi12

Yep, we're officially at peace. No more 'The Yankees are coming, the Yankees are coming!', we have successfully protected our sovereignty! And to that I say celebrate! Our might is nothing to be laughed at, and our bonds with our friends and allies make us even stronger!

But on the flip side, there's no True Patriot medals for a while. That sense of united nationalism against an enemy is no longer present. While war against one of our friends is never desired, it bonded us as a nation, parties and personal relations aside.

Well, whether we like it or not, the war is over, and we must try to move on, no matter whose fault it was. But the question is, how do we progress from this disastrous event that no sane person would have wanted?

There are many ways we can approach it. As seen by America's recent Congress proposals, their people are willing to bury the hatchet and be our friends once again. And having such a mighty and prideful nation as our ally is a good thing. We were bros for 4 years, and even when bros have fights, we always look past it and move on.

But at the same time, some other nations that our dear friends are more hesitant to trust the Americans. Our German allies in particular are unwilling to sign a MPP with them again, as seen by their proposal about to fail. Hell, can you blame them? You straight-up ditched us and stabbed us in the back! With your current government, we cannot trust you, simply put. With the elections soon to happen, however, this may change.

America took a chance with Spoland and Brazil, and like any intelligent nation, inquiring about it was smart for the Americans. Getting alliances with 3 mighty nations is not a bad move by any stretch of means. But given the Polish occupation of Germany-Denmark and France and the inherent shadiness of the Spaniards to some people, it's equally understandable that Terra is not begging to take America back in its current state.

While America's current CP Evry is very pro-CTRL, even at the cost of their Terran allies, quite a few of the candidates running for CP this month value Terra more than their new alliance, and wish to revert to their trusted friends, Canada included. One notable candidate, Gloveislove, has been vocally anti-Spain throughout his eLife and campaign, even temporarily moving up north to Canada rather than fight for a nation that had an alliance with Spain. With him or a similarly-thinking player in the White House, it's guaranteed that America will move away from this experiment they've indulged in throughout the last few months.

Simply put, Terra nations would love nothing more than to have the old America back, a powerful nation who fought for his friends no matter what the situation. Us in Canada especially, who have fought alongside our American brothers from our times invading European adversaries to the twilight of our existence, defeated by our enemies, would love to have our brother back. But, we cannot do so unless America takes the first step to repairing our strained relations. They must show that they have learned from their experience and are willing to move on, our differences be damned.

Whether it's by negotiating peace between Terra as a whole and Spoland, or by valuing our friendship over Spain's, or even just cooking us a juicy rib-eye steak, it doesn't matter. But if America wants to be our friend again, they must show that they are loyal. Friends will be forgiven, but traitors will burn at the stake. Make your move, America. Choose wisely.

Until next time, take care!
