PCP Update - Post Version 1

Day 335, 11:39 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Stan Wephen

Hello comrades. As promised, I'm here to bring you the news on the People's Communist Party. It's been an interesting week, with Version 1's release, widdows resignation and several appointments, so read on.

Presidential candidacy

Last week widdows9000 announced suddenly he was leaving for the eUSA. Fortunately, his trip was short-lived, and widdows9000 returned to the eUK. However, he has decided not to stand for Presidency under the current conditions, and has also resigned as Minister of Defence. This sparked a brief crisis within the PCP, as we head into the congress elections without a CP candidate. Tim09, after widdows9000's resignation, went on to take the job of Country President candidate. Tim09 has my full support as a brilliant politician and personal friend. Tim09 has been the Minister of Foreign Affairs for 3 terms, being under-minister of MoFA and apprentice MoFA for 2 months before that. He has a wide field of experience both in economics and domestic policy, such as the formation of the Trade Unions.

Appointments

Thanks to a recent influx of new, active members of the People's Communist Party, I'm pleased to announce several new appointments within the PCP.Tecchi - Junior Director of RecruitmentFrixion- Junior Director of CommunicationsI have full faith in both Tecchi and Frixion that both of them will perform their duties in the PCP with distinction and dedication.

Proposal - House of Lords

Currently the People's Communist Party is proposing a reform of the current political system with the introduction of a second house the Parliament, similiar to the House of Lords. Members of the House of Lords will be appointed by the top 3 PPs and the CP, keeping it democratic. This second House will allow soldiers such as paratroopers to become part of the government whereas previously they were disallowed from participation. It will also allow congressman in the HoL to concentrate on the country rather than the monthly congress elections.

PCP Constitution

The Constitution for the PCP is currently about 80% complete - all that's left is a bit of tidying up and working out loose ends. As soon as the Constitution is finished, it will be announced in this newspaper, as well as being put on the eRepublik wiki, so watch out for that.

Get to know the PCP: Ip Lockard

The founding father of the PCP, Ip Lockard is one biggest influences in modern British pollitcs. Originally the United Kingdom Action Party, Ip Lockard won the party elections in February and renamed it the People's Communist Party. He was the Chancellor of the Exchequer in April and May, and is still heavily involved in the People's Initiative.

Join the forums!

The People's Communist Party still wants YOU to join the forum and help us on our quest to better the eUK. It doesn't matter about your political experience, or indeed, any experience whatsoever. We want to hear what you have to say, and the best way to do that is to come onto www.erepublik.co.uk, click on the forum link at the top and sign up for the People's Communist Party forum under the Party forum section.

PCP buddies!

Just to let you guys know, the PCP is continuing to run its Buddy Scheme, where one of the more experienced PCP members is assigned to one of the newer ones. This will help new citizens get a footing on their new eRepublik lives, and give our bunch of older PCPers something to do! So, what are you waiting for? Personal Message me, Stan Wephen, if you're interested in participating!

Why should you join the PCP if you haven't already

Because we continue to be the most dedicated to the eUK, and to our members. We welcome everyone, regardless of previous experience. We stand for equality, and will continue to stand against elitism, because the eUK is for all, not for a few. Join us, and let's make the eUK better, together.
