PCP Update - Old Faces, New Ideas

Day 633, 14:05 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Stan Wephen

I know a lot of you might be getting tired of my face by now. Well, not my face, more a giant gas revolving in the sky.

However, I have decided to stand once again as the Party President of the People's Communist Party.

If elected, it will be no less than my 6th term as Party President! I'm immensely proud of leading this party through 5 months so far, and I hope to do so once again.

Of course, I'd like to stress that a Party President of the PCP is very different from the Party President of other parties. For the PCP, in a sense, there is no 'President', because all members are equal – we like to give everyone the same weight in what they say, no matter how new or old, rich or poor, experienced or naive they are! Instead, the Party President has acted as the spokesperson for the PCP, representing the views of the collective to the rest of the community.

As Party President this term, for the very first time in eUK history, I engaged in Party Presidential debates, head to head battles with the PPs of the UKRP, TUP, BEP and RFA. If you want to read these debates directly, log onto the forums and go on http://forums.erepublik.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=297. Great topics such as Political Takeovers, Small Government v Big Government, and the Ideal eUK were discussed.

Also, the PCP has taken a important role with the Internationale, an international group of socialist and communist parties seeking to achieve world-wide change. To find out more, go on http://theinternationale.forum.st.

A creeping problem has emerged in the PCP over the past month, and although I don't want to sound downbeat, I think it might need addressing. A lot of our members, both new and old, have decided to leave us, because of a 'change of direction' the PCP has gone through.

I'd like to once again re-affirm the PCP's primary objectives:

-Helping all citizens, new and old, get the very best from eRepublik, supporting and helping them through educating, informing and training

-Giving opportunities for all people's views to be represented within the PCP

-Supporting the weakest and least well off in the eUK, to make it the very best it can be, because the eUK can only be as strong as its weakest citizen

Don't confuse our enthusiasm for radicalism, nor should anyone feel marginalised within the PCP; we have, and always will, respect all views.

Ok, now that's done, onto our next month! We've got a busy month ahead of us in the PCP, so here's a quick run-down of our plans.

-Committees; I know this is getting old, but people do come and leave, meaning committees do need to be formed and reformed. The Press Committee and Congressional Review Committee are my main priorities.

-Internationale; As one of the world's biggest left-wing parties, we should take a leading role in the Internationale – rest assured, I'll personally be looking at their Constitution in writing very closely.

-Congress; our current congress number is a little down than usual, which is why this term we'll be fighting and fighting to give our members the maximum number of MPs we can. We owe it to our members to get representation in the House of Commons, and we will.

Get in contact!

As Party President, I welcome ALL ideas to do with eRep! I'm absolutely happy to help with any problems you have, and will love to have any suggestions you might have as well. I'm not short on experience in turning ideas into reality – House of Lords, Trade Unions, Ministry of Education, Transport for London are just a few (although admittedly, most of them are gone now!)

Twitter

Yes, even I'm jumped onto the twitter bandwagon. If you want to know what your favourite eCommie leader is up to, follow me on http://twitter.com/stanwephen.

Anyway, that's all the updates for now. Hopefully I'll actually do these regularly, apologies again for the lateness.
